Long story short I Baught a 1999 360 manual Trans car 70k miles. Motor sounds amazing. I'm fairly knoledgeable with valvetrain and odd noises and this motor has none. It cold starts great too.

So to my situation. I got the car sight unseen and come to find out it was only suppose to need a shifter cable.
Well after installing new cables come to find out the Trans is stuck in 4th gear and won't come out. Not even manually trying with your hands on the linkages or even taking apart the cover where the linkages go into Trans.

    So it's coming out.

    1st question.
I live in Atlanta where is a good place to take the transmission for rebuild and what extra things can we do to these to make them shift better.

2nd question what things should I do to the car while its apart. I.e maintnace or hard to service parts while its apart. Any Ideahs would help.

I'm going to go ahead and do headers and full exhaust for sure.
    Thanks in advance.

Check the sticky thread at the top. I'd look at transmission and motor mounts, they tend to fail on the 360. Depending on when the last belt service was made, I'd get that done too along with flushing fluids. Finally, IMHO the optional Race Exhaust (OEM option from Ferrari) is a must for the 360 as it just sounds awesome.

You might want to talk to Matt Luckie at Ferrari of Atlanta. He will give you some good input and steer you in the right direction. Good luck to you with your new M/T 360. I purchased my 360 from them.

With your tranny stuck in 4th gear I don't think you should be worrying about sticky parts.
While the tranny is apart look at the entire clutch, mounts. Based on the honesty of the seller (or lack of) I would get the belts and tensioner parts checked and of course change all the fluids. How's the battery? Start with a new one or at least have the old one load tested (done for free at most auto stores).

The car has 70K so you need to make yourself a maintenance program for the car if you're gonna keep it (3 pedal, ya baby!). Just do the ones I mentioned to allow you to drive the car and sleep at nights and then continue with your program when $$ and time permits (brakes, tires, ball joints etc

I got the Trans out today. Took me 5 hours.
Spent the rest of the day cleaning and inspecting.
I have a book of receipts and invoices. Looks like belts were done and clutch looks in good shape. By looking at it.

Baught all new oil and filters and Trans fluid and clutch fluid aswell.
I'm thinking maybe put a good clutch in it anyway. Maybe.
Brakes I'm getting ready to order, and full after market exhaust too. Should I do no cats. Weekend fun car. ?
