This is from a long term resto on another GT4. Same mechanic for both (auto elite) Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
nice. I too was real close this week to getting another GT4 out of Canada, but someone beat me to it, and im really pissed. It took me a week to sort out the import /export/ re-import to USA red tape. another dream shattered .
I didnt get a chance to look at this one when I was there (the GT4's were all the way in the back and I had to climb over bumpers to look at the green one) not sure what condition it's in but I think its been repriced lower as well..https://www.gullwingmotor.com/Listing/206406/1975-Ferrari-308GT4.aspx Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
thanks. link wont open but im sure its the burgundy one. the car I was desperately trying to buy was a Euro. No more US gt4s for me
When I was not looking to buy a GT4 I saw Euros for sale all the time. When I was in the market to buy, not so much. There was a guy down in TX that bought one for a car collector that needed some work. There was some discussion whether the collector would like it and keep it. I will try and find the guys e-mail and sent it to you. Perhaps you will get lucky?
The heads came off, so that's a good start! I got mine off before sending the engine to Auto-Elite. Vinny had the heads rebuilt with all ss valves - looked nice and gives a good peace of mind. He has a nice (re)production line of 308 engines going! That reminds me, I still have my 'spare' engine in there!
Ha...when I got there they had just got the heads off. Beads of sweat on both of their heads...I'm like ohhh this is going to cost me lol. I saw your engine there...looks awesome Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
That might have been me. I bought a very early mid-74 production date Euro 308 GT4 for a client of mine about three years ago; I’m in TX and he’s a car collector. Turns out that he had too many other projects and I bought the car back from him a few months ago. I was going to restore the car for my own collection, but I’d entertain selling it as-is if anyone is interested. PM me for details.
Interesting. He didnt want to do SS valves on mine. Says they are perfect. Assume I should have him change the exhaust valves while its open to address the sodium concerns? I dont think I would so the intake valves if they're in good shape. Also I can’t think of a reason why not to renew at least all the exhaust valves. The sodium ones fail.....
