I have a 2010 458 with 13k miles. I just had my annual service done. Now I hear a whining noise when I drive faster than 50 mph. What is this? More importantly how much is this going to cost me? :)

Anyone have an idea??? Thank you in advance.

You have to be more specific about the noise. Like where it's coming from, windows, engine, front, tires, gearbox, etc

The transmission does make a type of whining noise...sometimes heard it but never had an issue with my 12 Italia.

19k on my 458 spider. No whining.

Could be a wheel bearing or a transmission problem. Let's hope for the former not the latter.

If the noise intensity is independent of gear, including neutral, it is a rolling hardware problem. You can test that yourself and report it to the dealer.

My concern is that it's the transmission. How much will this cost me? Yikes!

I drove my car today for about a 50 mile round trip and the "whining"noise comes on from 50-75 mph. I know juts drive faster! :) But I am concerned about this.

Yes it does make this whining noise in neutral. I thought maybe it's tires or the wheels. (HRE wheels)

Great to hear that some of you are actually driving your Ferrari and enjoying it instead of letting it sit in the garage.

I enjoy driving my Ferrari to go to Walmart. :) But the whining noise has me quite concerned and hope someone else has experienced the same.

I just had a whining noise sorted at my dealer yesterday. It turned out to be a guard on the power steering pump. I was told that this was the second time they had seen this problem.

Fixed under warranty though so no idea of cost.

My warranty is out. I was thinking about the paying for the extended warranty but did not. Thank you.
