Hi just taken delivery of new 458 Italia and had a whistle in the car it has spent 10 days in the dealership and they say they have fixed it First road test noise returns at 95 mph I have rejected the car but Ferrari are saying this is a noise they all make at this speed and refusing to sort out any further They have taken out and replaced front screen and replaced and incorrectly fitted air box This had the effect of moving the noise from 80 mph to 95 mph does anyone else have this problem
There's a thread somewhere here that talks about the side mirrors making that type of whistling noise. Might be that.
Hi, mine had the same and it was the drivers window seal leaking. Its exacerbated when the AC is on. Its fixed now and they replaced the deal and adjusted the window mechanism to stop the window bending from being wound up too much and hence putting pressure on the window causing it to buckle.
Whistle noise is common to the car and not necessarily a defect. However, without first hand experience hearing the noise, its impossible to tell if your whistle is the "normal" whistle or indicates a real problem. I will say, however, that the sound my car makes is quite faint.
Only noise, which we had fixed, that was close to whistling was the sound of the power steering during the last 20% of a turn. hope you get it resolved.
