Saw this beauty today in Pebble Beach — never even heard of a white one existing. It was sharing a trailer with the Rossellini 375MM, and had the number 10 on the side. Is this the Nick Mason car, or has he sold it recently?

I realize I didn't answer your question. 0402 (the 375 MM PF Spyder rebodied in period as Coupe Scaglietti) and 3729 are both cars of Jon Shirley.
Nick Mason's GTO chassis number is 3757.

    YES !!!

As of now we have the reds, different blues, light green and (I wouldn't say dark, but 'more green') richer green, silver, this white, and then brown with white roof. All among current, authentic paint jobs on the real cars.

After GHG posted this last night I though it would be great to start a thread GTOs in Color.
All photos with proper credit of course. I will do so soon if someone doesn't start it first.

I'm so jealous of everyone in Monterey this week. I'd love to see all the cars! This white GTO is really amazing.

when Jon purchased the 250GTO, there was discussion already in early 2000 when we were track testing at Firebird/Phoenix about possibly one day bringing her back to the white color (and markings) of the Jack Sears / UK days. Numerous other restoration projects happened first over the past fifteen years that had higher priority -- and aside from the damage sustained on the GTO Reunion in France many years ago -- it was silly to mess with the well worn patina on this one until recently. Glad to see it back in white and hopefully several more decades of incredible fun to be had upcoming.

I saw a beautiful dark grey 250 swb today on Ocean ave in Carmel, it was driving and I was so upset I didn't get longer to admire it.

Does anyone know where I might see this car over the course of the weekend and or some other vintage Ferrari's?

Unfortunately concours is not in the cards this year so I'm hoping for some advice where to go?

    Thanks!

There are two darkgrey SWB's right now on the MRY Peninsula. One is 2243 GT and the other 3337 GT. Both will be at the FCA Nationals on Monday 17th August at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Course in Monterey, in Class 2.

I was very fortunate to see it run around the track in 2012 at the Palm Beach International Raceway as part of the Cavallino Classic.

Perhaps it will return and I will have the chance to photograph it in white and I'll have another image to contribute to this thread :)

    Thank you Marcel!

Unfortunately it seems this event is sold out. Maybe I can try to see them in the morning or something as I must lay eyes upon that car again.

    Thanks for the help!

Does anyone have extra spectator tickets to this for sale?

The best part of Jon owning this car was his penchant for using the way it was intended in historic racing. A few years ago on the east coast.

Marcel - I read about 3337 GT in the latest Forza Magazine. Am I correct in my reading of the article that the engine was left with a number of its '80s modifications - GTO headers and the like? I found it curious that the article described the great lengths to which the owner and restorer went to re-introduce the 100% correct, original hardware, and yet they neglected to return the engine to factory new specification. Do you know if my reading is correct? It struck me as very odd.

According to the ads from when #3337 GT was offered by Richard Freshman's Fossil Motorsports Inc. and Mike Sheehan's-Ferrari's on line.com in 1999 and then subsequently sold in November 2001: The cars chassis, suspension and engine were race prepared by Fossil Motorsports then maintained/campaigned for its owner/driver Dr. James Daugharthy in 1989 through the 1990s with the engine being race developed by Fossil to produce 325 HP with new GTO counter weighted crank, Carrillo rods, custom developed more radical cams then GTO specs, custom designed pistons, new GTO big valve heads, Fossils lightweight magnesium millimeter perfect, undetectable replica engine castings (valve covers, timing case and sump) with taper tuned twin megaphone exhaust system, etc. It held a well earned reputation as the wickedly fastest steel SWB in the world at the time. The real question is: Why would anyone want to or even bother to change the internals or parts that no one could even tell were there and that make mega power while still being streetable. I would bet that they have not and if the car has been Classiched they surely missed it as they don't normally disassemble and measure internal engine components.
