Is Mr Shirley's collection open to the public on occasion? I'd love to see it.
Can we play identify the car in Mr. Shirleys garage, Silver 375mm is #0402AM, the Pebble Beach winner
Sports Car Market had a great article on the collection, with pictures of all the cars and more. Worth looking up.
Ferrais in the image which I've left unidentified: 512 BBi (red/black) F355 Spider (yellow/black) 550 Maranello (silver) 1997 F310B (ex-Schumacher)
Thanks for the additional info. I've also identified the F310B and the Ford GT. We're still missing three Ferraris: 512 BBi (red/black) F355 Spider (yellow/black) 550 Maranello (silver) And a host of other stuff: 1965 Shelby 289 Cobra (red) 1961 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk II (white/red) 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible (red) 1954 Jaguar XK120 Roadster (dark green) 1960 Lotus 18 Formula Jr (green/yellow) 1956 Mercedes Benz 300SL Gullwing (red) MG TC (green/tan) Porsche 356 (black) Porsche 911 (silver) Porsche 911 (blue) I expect that the three remaining Ferraris won't be too difficult to nail down. There is a bunch of cool stuff missing from the photo -- either on exhibition at a museum; at Butch's restoration shop in Puyallup for maintenance; or in a transporter to/from an event. ie: Maserati 300S (3072), Alfa 8C2900B (412036), Alfa P3 (50005), 275 GTS/4 NART Spyder (09751)
Mr Shirley graciously hosted the Northwest Region FCA for a tour of his collection about a year ago. Priceless memories. As someone said previously, he doesn't let his cars just gather dust either. And from an earlier post that I unfortunately did not notice: "Fiat Ferrari transporter is # 003002/ MO 42628. Thanks to el Wayne for the great work " He is a copy of part of an email from Jon Shirley to me on 10/13/14: "No one knows which transporter was which. There were two in 1957 of which mine was one and then another 2 made in 1958 on a slightly different Fiat chassis." My original post was in jest. But then after being taken to task, I remembered Jon's old email. I suppose that Shirley's transporter my well have s/n 003002, but as Jon's email shows, it is hard to relate his with which one did what in the day, or if his corresponds to that is some old photo or not.
