It only costs about $650 to send it from P.R. to Florida. Cars in Puerto Rico have to be USA legal specs.

Back in '92 I bought a 328GTS in Florida for $62,000 and a year later I was offered a job in Puerto Rico and took the car with me. The local taxes to be able to take the car out of the port and to register were $21,000.

 

The classified ad is meant for Puerto Rico buyers on a Puerto Rico website. The car paid 40% taxes so if it was a US$200k car in the states it would have cost $280k in San Juan.

Obviously it makes no sense to buy it there and ship it here, unless the guy is willing to eat the taxes he paid and sell it at US market price.

I agree with the stripe comment as I have seen this car in person and the stripe looks silly to me on a white car, but to each his own. It is certainly unique.

 

He needs to wash the car until the stripe disappears...

 

If you don't want to spend your surplus cash on the white one, you can buy the only one for sale in Canada -- a black one with only 300miles -- for $300,000 Canadian - $265,000US.

Thank you for the link. I usually follow what is for sale in Canada and this one had slipped past me. $300K CAD is too much especially when making the conversion to USD.

 

Wow....I may be the only one, but I really like the white CS. Very nice, and extremely unique.
