I am getting some dry white residue on my radiator reservoir. I have wiped it clean and it reappears. I do not see any seepage of liquid. I am planning on replacing the cap incase there is a crack that I cannot see. Temp is running normal. I appreciate your thoughts.

My guess is that you are not actually cleaning it off... plastic stains and I bet when you 'clean' it, it disappears with product on it... but then after it totally dries and the heat gets to the cap, it shows back up again... does that pattern and location of the stain look familiar? same each time, I bet? Meaning, it's probably not happening again or leaking. It happened once, stained and shows back up in same spot and pattern once hot and dry... like tbakowsy said, buy a new cap and replace it.

Quite likely to be the cap but make sure that you aren't overfilled.

Just for reference, even after I replaced my cap with a new oem one, I still sometimes get a very small amount of residue. I think its just a not-so-robust design. But if not spewing or leaking everywhere, you are probably fine.

Yes plastic cap. I have purchased a new one and haven’t replaced it yet. Thanks for all the replies.

Chase the hose on the reservoir cap down to a small bracket that holds it and some other hoses in place. When it's not secured, a rather long run of hose becomes supported by the right angle joint at the cap, resulting in the seal getting tweaked as the hose moves around under bumps and vibrations. At least, that's what appeared to be happening on mine. I haven't driven long enough since re-securing the hose to be able to tell anything has changed, and am waiting on a new cap to get here since mine was already leaking slightly before noticing it.
