    Whitmarsh said:

"As far as I'm concerned we want to win this year's World Championship and we want to do it in the right way."

And yet in the past they were happy to win Championships using stolen information, lying to the FIA, using a dubious brake system and then lying about it's primary function and using team orders in the first race of the season!.

The man sure lives by a strange moral code!.

Still, it's nice to know Alonso's chances of winning this years WDC has taken another positive step!.

As a McLaren fan, I have to say that I have been very disappointed in Whitmarsh ever since he took over for Ron Dennis.

McLaren has consistently lost the development battle. This has never been more apparent than this year. Hamilton has wrung the hell out of the MP4-25 but he just can't match the Red Bulls. This should not be happening.

To me, he has been a big disappointment.

Bring back Ron Dennis. At least he will cheat and admit it. :)

    Stone him! :D

Gotta respectfully disagree there, for a few reasons:

1 - They're not looking too bad right now! [OK, Monza is a unique track, but still.....]
2 - They can't be on top all the time - No matter who's in charge - RD, or MW doesn't really impact car development.
3 - In season development is something they've traditionally been very good at over the years. [Certainly better than our boys in red ]

    Cheers,
    Ian

I like Whitmarsh. Dennis was an ass. I think they're definitely playing the PR battle as well as they can, but I get good vibes from Whitmarsh and enjoy hearing what he has to say during the bbc race coverage.

Id say he is far better off than Ferrari and how ridiculous they looked after Germany. Ferrari have a lot to learn and have forgotten much since Austria 2002.

Ha Ha! I know. I know. I am like a Red Sox fan at a Yankee game. :)

This is the way I see it.

If Vettel and Webber hadn't made all of their mistakes, this season wouldn't have been much of a competition at all.

Remember, Vettel blew at least two races that he would have personally won without brain cramps and then took out Webber in another all but certain victory.

Add those three or four race wins and Red Bull is just another Brawn GP 2009.

McLaren has stayed on top because they have very good drivers and have worked together. The car could be MUCH better.

Saw Ron Dennis at Monza this AM. Didn't know he owned any dress shirts that weren't bright white. ;)

:) Actually, I think, you "evil" fans of Mclaren (and there's lots of you around!) are pretty well tolerated in general ;)

Too many "if's and "maybe's" in there for my taste! But, their (fortunately, sole!) car looked pretty darn good today IMO. However, I thought your point was that, as a McL fan, you believe RD would be doing a better job of making the car better than MW - I gave my thoughts as to why I believe you're mistaken.

As to RBR, sure their car is the class of the field, but "to finish first, you first gotta finish...."

    Cheers,
    Ian
