i have a lot of information about the aftermarket stereo and radar system you'd probably want to know about!!!

and i hope you enjoy the car - she's a beauty with a growl....

    happy trails :)

and I know I owe you a phone call....

drove it back after a wonderful time with Jim from La Jolla to Sonoma, ca and had only one problem.....the headlights started to open/close ALTERNATELY when I came off the freeway, changed one of the relays for the rear-defroster relay at Solvang and taadaa....fixed [couldn't drive in the dark...and, well, it worked out even better]
...will start to carry a set of relays now along with fuses...I believe there is a design flaw in that the fuse box, is under the passengers footboard, and when she sometimes pressed her feet into the front board, well, it might have made contact with the tops of the relays: will reinforce and make some adjustments.
BTW, need to discuss the trunk...drove it in the rain a few weeks ago, and, well, we need to 'yack'....not a big deal....got a new trunk seal for $108 delivered from SF Ferrari today....

LOVE the car....you did well friend. Hope you enjoy your new 612, understood you like the same color: Burgundy.

BTW..[again] do you have the front license plate....not a big deal but before I go to DMV, would like to know if you have it.
ALSO, PPS: how in the world do you work that 10 CD-Changer? gal loves the IPod interface...Too much electronics for me...we carried a radar detector which is more sensative than the hidden one, but like the hidden one better for lack of windshield clutter. Thinking of reinstalling the front ashtray for the plugin. already bought an extra set of 456 rims. Yup, gonna' put in on ifineon [don't panic....will NOT hurt this baby.] The Tubis make this AWSOME.......even had a cop stop me in the city last Sat. to say they were illegal [we said yes officer and blarred away!!!!!!] Keeping my 90 Mondial-T Red/Tan Cabriolet for the moment, but, it will not be getting the workout it deserves....wondering...hmmm.
the 456 is FAST, POWERFUL, but not quick. but, that's ok with us....I have already decided this is a keeper, and looking at SF Ferrari's 575-M gold/tan they have...VERY NICE.....believe we will be sticking with 12 cylinders for a long, long time.

also bought 3 never used 456 luggage pieces [only two showing, the other came with original garage books from a Ferrari Dealership in FL.]...
Got the original promotion package with slides too.
Decided to add all this as a necessary part of the car's presentation....better now than later.

got 'yoshi' shields too, but, finding a way to attach with magnets from behind [and no damage to pait etc.] so I can remove them....the original lines are too cool, and shields would have been great, but, somehow, like the option of not having them, thus the magentic approach.....glad Sonoma has a magnet factory.

The real thing about this car: track record. Having gone through the problems of an 'issue' F, I knew this would be a must to have it right. Thus, factory window upgrades done, mechanics = done, 30k belts etc. done, last june.......otherwise I would have been on the altert {hate to say it, but the Mondial-T I got from SF Ferrari, had an after market alarm system in it. that although, they said I should remove--and I didn't right away for about 1 year--almost cost me the entire car!!!!!!!!!!!!. Personally they should have removed that item. Had to replace the horrible wiring job, etc. of that alarm, for several thousands of dollars....not to pleased about that....entire fuse board etc etc. etc....spilt milk]....
word for the cautious: CHECK OUT THE mechanics and listen to your mechanic....there's a reason and it can cost you dearly down the road.

The 456's are a super stylish often overlooked car in the 550 shadow but destined for greatness in the years to come. I predict huge value enhancements in the years to come. Ample justification for a solid front engined V-12 auto. If you have one, especially the manual model, hold tight and it will pay you dividends.

I really believe the same. They seem to be holding up to the rigors fairly well and the styling is aging well. Power and luxury should attract a nice crowd for years to come.

I can't tell you the amount of times though, that Ferrari of SF tried to talk me out of this model: reasons were mechanical and problematic costs over what the early models were presenting and justly so....

However, if you now purchase this at the bottom prices and have a good track record, you are in for a huge, value, and enjoyment factor.

too low, might take some real investigation to bring it up to 'speed'...and most original owners didn't drive the things. I've seen two in San Rafael shop being total engine rebuilds this summer due to inactivity....real shame.

This car will be, hopefully, a keeper for me. I love the looks over the "M" model, there is a similar one on ebay right now [albeit with red interior, which isn't my first choice] item # 280087727478
BUT I love the hood vents.... sure, the font facia is a bit better on the "M" but then there is the rear spoiler....cool.

more room in the interior, but......willing to give that up for the other looks.

I believe within the year, this time next year the lower end of this vehicle, like the Mondial-T cabriolet, will move up. That will strengthen the base price, and make the 'investment' into mechanicals coachworks worth it to maintian it's current value. And what a pleasure to drive....
taking it to Phoenix/Tuscon this year.....can't wait to see how it makes it...always a F adventure to travel long distance...

actually, that's what is in it. XM [thankfully not Sirus...can't stand Stern, rather watch Football, listen to B[ase/asket] ball ..but, tubis sound better], CD [up to 6 x 10-pack changers], IPod [yes, the charging feature is nice], etc.
and has had all the speaker changed out, including a sub-woofer in the trunk[I believe....but who could hear it?]

haven't figured this one out yet....the sliding bar is nice, but leave that to the passenger: her job...look pretty and don't outshine the car.

    heya Rik!!!

so glad you are enjoying the car! i had a lot of amazing time in it; never had the headlights do the "blinky" though....that's odd! glad you got it sorted...

yes - the car sounds amazing, doesn't it? my neighbors actually miss the sound (not kidding!) because the 612, even with the Tubi, is much more reserved at low revs....it howls around 5-7k, though :)

you can private email me - let's chat - i'd like to give you a "tour" around the stereo system....also - are you local (bay area)? let me know - it would be great to meet up!

    have fun - be safe

    just sent you a PEmail.

yes, and you did a wonderful job of keeping it in order. Which was THE deciding factor for me: Sorry, She's a keeper for me......

going to Sacto for the weekend...let you know how it fairs.....will of course, keep within speed limits [of the autoban].

YES: I in Sonoma, about 1/2 off the 'square' on 1st St........

PS: Driving into town yesterday, saw a coup, Daytona, black/black guy saw my Ferrari Sticker on back of Chev PU rear window and 'waved...well, sort of...'

Stereo queston: Will come back with model number of one in 456 and the other, which is ok--Alpine too--, in Mondial-T
