Who in the Houston area can do a PPI on an '03 Murcielago? I was asked by a potential buyer today if I would be willing to send the car to LoD to have an inspection done...But wants it to all be my cost because he was burned on a deal before where the car was "perfect" but the PPI revealed neglect and some other issues. I was thinking if this guy is worried about losing no more than $1200 he really should'nt be looking at Murcies:rolleyes:

    $600-PPI
$600- For round trip transport to Dallas.

    ????? Clarification pls.....

Do you need a PPI in Houston? or in Dallas? Your thread title says Houston, but content implies Dallas.

Sound like money's not the only thing this potential buyer is short on.

How stupid do you have to be to insist that the seller pay for a PPI... It exposes him to collusion between the seller and the party performing the PPI. I thought the whole point of a PPI was to have a totally independent 3rd party do the inspection, acting as an advocate for the buyer.

I'm not saying that you would try to hide flaws, but how would the buyer know for sure?

PPI is insurance and negotiation territory for the buyer, not necessarily the seller. But if he wants it at your costs, then I would suggest the extra $1200 be tacked onto the final price.

You could always call FoH and see if any of their mechanics ever turned wrenches on Ls. In my opinion this buyer should be doing the looking for the PPI and be asking you for permission to use someone. I can understand his wanting to do it at LoD (Luigi trailors his up there when needed) but asking you to pay for it indicates to me he is not 100% into the process yet. I'd say no.

Car is in Houston but will send to Dallas if needed.

The guy is a flake but he does have the money to buy the car...He owns a tile/flooring outlet across UT, he is like the Jim Mac of UT from the impression that I got. He told me how he had a '99 Roadster that he traded for a 360 Spyder so I called my contacts in SLC and they confirmed his story. I was just going to ask you guys if an inspection could be done down here and if not then just transport to LoD...I asked FoH about a trade for the CS and since Post Oak Motorcars has been sitting on their Murcie for so long they advised me to try and sell on my own.

Would FoH have all the equipment to do a PPI on a Lambo? Everything on the car is perfect accept for a dummy light on the dash, my battery went dead while I was gone and like an idiot I jumped it like it was a Chevy:rolleyes:

Sounds like he needs to fly a tech to you, @ his cost, with laptop. You can facilitate hooking up tech with a shop. Otherwise, if car flatbedded and is totalled/stolen, etc., it is your problem without any commitment to buy. A hefty deposit would be required ?5k? before I'd send any car of mine 300mi for a PPI. Or, tell him to pound sand. ;)

Those are the exact words my dad told me when I explained the scenario to him...I would blow him off but its not like my phone is ringing off the wall with buyers.

...and Tuesday I head back to LA so the car will just sit for another 6 months at least until I return. If nothing else I will just take the car to CA and sell or trade out there. The buyer said if I could have a PPI done Monday and all came back clear he could send payment within 24 hrs, he is a customer of Exotic Imports and they told he is a serious buyer that is not jerking me around.

Jim, the man is probably very very busy this week, sorting out other things in preparation for his move.

M.M., you don't know me, and I don't know you. But I'll be happy to help you out of this bind. PM me and I will go to love field immediately, and jump on a plane, and drive the car to LoD. I can have it there by this evening! I won't even bill you for the plane ticket. :)

    j/k. Kind of. :)

I am going to send the car to Exotic Imports in SLC and have them fix the computer and do a PPI on his dime. Once the car is in SLC the buyer will be able to see it and if it does'nt sell then I will just take back to LA...Thanks for all the help guys:)

    Thanks for the offer FarmerDave:D
