I am surprised this company , called, Aria, Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login s had so many illustrious clients and I never heard of them..well, I don't penetrate the Orange Curtain that much from the IE...anyhow like to hear the pros comments on the design and hear who designed it (where they worked for before....)

The styling is very modern, in the realm of Ferrari and Lamborghini and McLaren but doesn’t alas, set any new trends.

Here’s a few observations I could add on the design, alas from pictures, not having seen it in person (I was at the preview day the first day but some automakers bring cars after the Press days, which makes no sense to me...):

SIDE: Very derivative of Ferrari La Ferrari, but still a pleasant car. I need to know if doors swing up, a la La Ferrari? (more panache accrues to you when you make your carefully timed arrival….)

FRONT: Very derivative again, with more of a McLaren look than Ferrari or Lamborghini. Not employing flat planed surfaces like the Lambos. Front air scoops seem big enough for a small jet fighter.

REAR: Taillights hidden in dark area under a ledge are appropriately mysterious but the huge black open areas below that are way way too big—sufficient to be exhausts for a jet fighter’s engines, not needed on a car. Rear window way too small, why the necessity to have such thick wide rear sail panels, leaving the rear view so small (all will be forgiven if there’s a rearward facing camera to show the complete rear view to the driver) Wing on stilts appears to be adjustable, probably automatically altering wing angle when more downforce is needed, but doesn’t appear completely retractable, which would be nice for visibility at normal city driving speeds but such a lay-flat-when-not-needed wing would probably add too much weight with the required addition of retracting mechanisms.

Don't know who designed it. It's a credible effort. Not the newest design, but a decent execution of mainstream supercar designs.
The upper could be a Corvette. ;)

Aria is one of the larger prototype shops in Orange County. They have done a ton of showcars for all the major brands over the years. They were involved with the original Fisker rebodies, the Tramonto and Latigo. As mentioned they work with Singer Porsche. They do production development and they have also done a lot of movie vehicles including cars for Transformers, Halo and an airship, which I had designed, for Total Recall 2012. The designer who did the FXE is Nick David. I first met him many years ago when he was working at Honda's advanced styling studio. Since then, he has worked Jaguar, Land Rover, and GM's California studio before working with Aria.
He also has his own Aston Martin accessory company called The V Collection ( https://www.vcollection.com/ ) which was originally called The Vantage Collection until Aston Martin complained.

Aria released a car last year, which was a tamer version of this new car, and it was presented as a mid engine Corvette and was named after GM designer Ed Taylor (father of Aria's co-founder Charles Taylor) who was known as Fast Eddy. So originally the Corvette influence was intentional.
