who do you root for?

  1. the talented driver, he's entitled to winning

Pole? If you mean Kubica, his situation is a bit different. From what I can see (armchair expert) he seems like a very hard working driver with talent that goes about in a quiet way. But he has no in-team competition to speak of so the point of my poll is a bit lost on him.

Right now the most obvious situation is at Red Bull. But i'm sure I didn't need to point that out to you?

    Very clever response.

I think some of that is very true and also goes a long way why I never liked Springsteen. Way too "blue collar" for my taste.

Obviously this whole poll is pretty transparent in its intentions:

Of course the obvious answer is that everybody supports the hard working guy who has to make up for his shortcomings in beating the rotten spoiled brat. But that's so friggen obvious and cliche that to me this is totally boring. This is how the whole world works. But F1 to me is an escape from reality (to some degree), a world where heroes battle and where sometimes evil prevails (e.g. Alonso gets away with Spygate and Crashgate). That's the whole fun part of it.

Of course a drunken Kimi or a smoking Hunt is politically incorrect and they should be ashamed of themselves being poor role models. But that's the point, that's why it is so fun to root for them. Otherwise we might as well all start cheering for the most diligent accountant there is who works 16 hour days to please his boss. How much fun is that?

It seems that Alonso (and Ferrari too appearently) think they're entitled to win, even though Massa worked hard at the start to pass both Alonso and Vettel and keep them at bay.
