When it comes to your car(s) Who do you trust to: 1. Drive it ? 2. Work on it? 3. Even get near it? I have seem a wide range of owners of various exotic and not so exotic cars handle the above situations differently. I for one, know that it my cars are just that, cars - some nicer than others, but they are still just a mode of transportation and then some. 1. Me , a best of friend, and the person who works on it. 2. I work off personal referrals - I usually meet the person who will be working on the car, if just for a few minutes. I see their work area, sometimes it comes up what they drive, etc... you can tell alot about a person by their own personal enviroment. ( IMO ) 3. Anyone who wants to, as long as they are not eating ice cream ( lol ) or obviously under the influence of xyz. Other than that I usually invite people to look, look inside, have a seat - offer a drive around the block ( as a passenger ) etc... I want to share the experience as much as possible. I have driven many many different cars, some exotic ( Ferrari, Lambo, Lotus), some really expensive ( Phantom, Maybach, Bently ) and various others - and its interesting to see the different reactions we get. Just a fun, Friday night topic for discussion..... Steve
I would like to ride in your car. I would like to know also. About getting near it, I would like to know also. My friends always tell me when we see a nice or expensive car to put a business card on their windshield or window. I don't because I don't know how some people would feel about that and don't want to get a pissed off person calling me....No good for biz. I wouldn't mind if they didn't scratch my car but some people are different. Plus I like to talk to people face to face more than just putting cards on cars but some times I'm not waiting an hour for someone to come back out.
Well, to run the Texas Mile last week I had to leave the car at the graphics shop, then that guy, who I trusted and had oriented on starting procedure, took it across town for the oil change at Vintage, picking up some Royal Purple on the way...Will Call at the Ford dealer! Then once completed, the Vintage mechanic took it next door, to Lady Valeria's shop, where I picked it up later...... On way home from the event I was sad that Valeria didn't have time to make a run, but that was her Mom's fault, who wanted to go to Wanda Jackson's birthday party... The graphics guy did bump the windshield rear view mirror off it's base, but it went right back on........
It's a car. They break. They're fixed. I'm not real picky about who drives it, who's around it. Now who works on it...that would be Robert Rodgers or Norwood.
