I just read a thread where the owner has an alarm system in his Dino. I was just curious how many owners have alarms installed in their Dino? I would think this would count against you in a concourse, right?

If it's still in the car, I guess it does.

My insurance agency wouldn't insure me if I DIDN'T have an alarm fitted.

I had to also put in a 3 way immobilizer. While I was at it, I put in the remote central locking too.

Strange, I'm with them also; They were adamant that I'm not covered without their 'approved' alarm system installed.

    I'll call them....

Had an UNGO system when I bought my Dino in '86. Didn't work and pulled everything but the window sticker. Sticker seems to be a real workhorse. Folks are scared to touch car. Great!

John, I don't think it's the sticker that folks are scared to touch your car,...instead people are in awe w/ a car like that in front of them. Admiration ? Maybe, people can "feel" the pride and joy of the lucky owner. w/ smiles Jimmy PS. I have nothing techo in mine, not even a radio. I have seen a Dino owner here that went all out techo/ overboard w/ virtually everything imaginable ...xenon lights, A/C, sound/navi system, etc.

I'd love to watch a thief try to start my car without knowing the pre-start ritual.

That's funny, UroTrash ! Even if a thief succeeds starting, he may need to learn manual shifting next. w/ smiles Jimmy

As the thread you read about an alarm in a Dino was probably mine i thought i would join in here.I fitted my alarm for several reasons one of which was the insurance company. The obvious one been theft, but more probably its vandals who want to damage my car.My alarm has a built in cell phone which sends me a message if any body sets off any of the mulitude of sensors it has. This means if any body touches the car i know about it.But as like most Dino owners i only park the car where i can watch it anyway i guess theres not much chance of that happening. And funnily enough the alarm installers couldnt get the car started either and as Jimmy K. pointed out without the D , + or - on the shift gate they probably couldnt move it anyway.
