Anyone? If so, how was the experience? Tell some stories! When I get my first F-car this feat is high up on my list of priorities
Haven't attended this feat myself. Maybe in a few years when I get my first f-car. But i'm pretty sure there are quite a few, you have to remember the Players Run events, there are a few people on these boards that were in the event.
when I bought my 512TR road car I drove it from Fort Lauderdale, FL to Connecticut. Then I took her on the Forza Mille Rally & did 1,000 miles around upstate NY, Vermont, NH, & Maine
Several years ago Si Yedor resored a Boano Elana and drove it accross the US with his son. They won an award at an East Coast car show. There is an acticle about the car and the trip in Cavallino. I don't remember what issue.
Look at FML back issue "crosscountry travels" I have driven my Daytona across the country three times in the last three years, Gerald made it sound like something special, but the truth is I LIKE TO DRIVE IT!.
I drove Bud Man's 360 Modena from Huntington Beach, CA to Columbia, SC in less than 3 days! Oh, sorry, I guess I forgot to mention it was in my trailer. (I guess that doesn't count!)
That's the only way I'd want to take my 360 cross-country on Interstates -- in a trailer. It would be an utter waste to drive a 360 cross country on an Interstate route. Now, if I could find a route which was 75% back roads with lots of twisties, I'd reconsider! (Of course, I don't think there is such a route...)
well that would just be fun! but that would just promote accidents. ppl like driving in a straight line, well the average person does, i think everyone on this board woud rather have more twisty roads huh
My unforgettable solo drive was twenty + (1983) years ago and not cross country but still a great driving experience. A friend asked me to drive his new 308GTSi from Long Island back to Milwaukee. Trip time approx. 13 hours . . . top off all the way! Memorable moments throughout the drive were the truckers who would caution me about speed traps, sliding me in between their convoys. Also washing the bugs and insects out of my hair after hitting home turf. That's memorable because today I don't have any hair!
5 years ago I picked up my "new" 348 in LA and drove alone to NC in 36 hours, so I didn't do any sightseeing. No problems but my alternator died the day after I got home. Bob
