As dangerous as it is, it is still impressive albeit lucky.

I bought my 360 in early October with 15k on it. When I parked it at Christmas time, it had 25k. I can't stop driving it. 2 months, 10k. They told me it was serviced, but the oil looked black and the gearoil seemed weak. I serviced it again myself. Only stopped driving because I can hear the thrust bearing whinning. Haven't had time to change the clutch. What a waste, to change out the clutch just because one of the morons before me didn't know to only touch the clutch when shifting and not to press the clutch at red lights. Maybe they just don't last. Changed the vertical acceleration sensor in back too. Seems it gets hot back in the engine area. Makes sense. Drives wonderfully. The gearbox is alot smoother now. Always shut off the ASR. It just wears out the rear brakes. Kind of a waste, I think. I drive it to 160 mph almost everyday (before Christmas). Front bumper looks like hell though. I'm careful constantly, but it's just low. Will get the plastic covers for it. Love it, take care of it, and keep it in worked.

O.k., we have a new winner! 5k per month! DAMN. That's impressive.
O.k, come on.... you need to change the oil at least every 5k if you are using synthetic, so get used to expecting that with that kind of mileage.

Now for the dumb question: What is the vertical acceleration sensor and why did you change it?

I drive mine with ASR off all the time too, and have clear bra on the front bumper, half-hood and wheel wells, along with rocker panels and rear bumper. Did the rear bumper because I live on a gravel road(yes, and i drive the Ferrari on it, very slowly though) and it's easier to get the dust off of it with the rear bumper clear bra-ed. Haven't scraped the front bumper yet, am sure it's just a matter of time.

Have your 'rolled' the wheel wells? I discovered a crack in the paint on mine the other day, so I am going to roll them to prevent more.

The active suspension defaults to Sport mode, which is a little rougher. Well, a little picture of a car came up with 2 little arrows pointing to the wheels. This means there's a problem with the active suspension. (which I like, it works), and if you're a fast driver, it actually makes the difference between life and death at over 100 manuevering. Anyway, there are two of these sensors, one in the front bumper and one on the passenger side of the engine compartment. They provide data to the suspension computer on direction changes and adjusts the suspension to act accordingly. It's nice, I think. Anyway, the sensor in the engine compartment gets fried after a while, you know, with the engine heat in there. Changed it myself...super basic. Just unplug with your hand and plug in the new one. Just attach with a 10mm bolt where the old one was. Costs about $280 at the dealer. The light went out, now I got the smooth ride mode back!! I'm glad because I don't drive over 160mph more than 5 or 6 times per day. The smoother mode is very welcome. I just wish I could turn off this stupid ABS!! I think it sucks. Most of the time, I guess it's alright, but try to slam on the brakes and go into a driveway. I'd rather skid. That was another deep scuff under the front bumper. The ASR is really good in the snow and rain and actually if you don't leave it on, you'll definately lose it. But try to race around in it, forget it. It's gotta go off. Just look at the back rotors, they'll have more wear than the front ones! I think that's why Ferrari makes the back brakes exactly the same as the front, because it has to control down the strong acceleration. This is uncommon in every other car I've seen because there isn't much braking back there.

32K and just came back from the paint shop. Had the entire front clip stripped and repainted along with a clear bra. Take it from me, who used to be a moron. If you repaint your car. Put a clear bra on it before it ever leaves the paint shop! Not doing so will make you a moron about a week later when you have rock chips!

Is it a general feeling that people who don't put X+ miles per year on their car are not enjoying them and on top of that, they are scared to drive them?

I would like to refresh this thread as F430's are now getting more miles.
Mine has now 26000 miles which I consider to be very low compared to other cars.

As the market prices of the F430 has tremendiously dropped in 2010, at least here in Switzerland and the Euro zone, I decided to not trade it in and to stop "sparing" miles. My 6 speed has been bulletproof until now and I'm now going to really enjoy this car by putting some real miles on it. My F430 just got out of the Power Cube warranty too and I'm not going to renew it and save this money + the depreciation (=100K$ !!!) because for such an amount I can do a lot repairs on the car!

I have no idea if a F430 engine can make up to 100K miles but why not? This V8 engine has now been produced so massively by Ferrari, Maserati and 8C.

If you have a high mileage on your F430, it would be great to know how reliable the car has been.

    Thanks,
    Stef

430 huge depreciation in 2010? If anything, in the US prices have firmed up a bit and asking prices are at least 10k higher than they were going into the winter last year.

I hope they drop quickly(esp. Scud), as that will hasten my trading up from my beloved 360.

    Stef,
I know what you mean. Might as well enjoy. I have 18,700 on my 05 that I bought new, also a stick, and intend to just keep driving. I've had no issues to speak of. My mileage is probably about double the US average.

In the US, prices took a dive late in 2008 and early 2009. Since then, they'e firmed up quite a bit. I think my 430 would actually bring another 10K compared to 18 months ago. I bought a 2007 Porsche early last year and it's still worth what I paid even though it's now twice as old and triple the miles. A couple of friends bought used 360s at the same time at prices that no longer seem possible. It was a great time to buy used high end cars in the US.

Thread is a few years old, but it seems its the season for 360 purchases and alot of the new buyers are asking mileage questions..

Thought I'd bring it back around and throw my own update on it.

Bought with 22k and have put 2600 miles on it 49 days. No complaints....

Only issue was a dead battery on the FOB remote and a 02 sensor. I can live with that any day of the week.

Its getting an oil change this week at an independent Ferrari mechanic in Joplin Missouri.. $260.. Not bad considering my dually's oil changes are $160 now (albeit it goes much longer between changes)...

Don't be scared of cars with mileage in the 20s. You're not gonna make any money when you sell them, they cost money to drive..

I had a full belt service done when I bought it (continental did it for the lambo dealer I purchased her from) because I couldn't find any records on a belt service. Some people say it was overkill, but it was peace of mind for me. Considering I had an 800 mile trip to get home. I wanted a fresh battery, oil change and belt service. Belt service was $1900, I split that with the dealer...

I should be good for another 15k miles with nothing other than fluid changes..

I drive her all the time. Heck the miles are catching up to my 06 Lexus- the true garage queen (maybe because it's so uneventful to drive). At this rate I'll pass my 1997 Porsche 993 TT 'S' with 47,000 miles. Yep, all my cars are drivers
