+1 ... When I read the title of the thread, I thought to myself, "And this is something to be proud of?!" 17000, plus 3500 miles since I bought my '97 in late June. AND I've had a major done in July, too, taking away some prime months. Hell, I've got 45 so far today!
Now that I know what all the hub bub is about, hmmmm. You're all correct. The car should be drivin more often, however with two young children who believe at this time in their lives that Barney or Dragon ball Z are more important. The car has never seen a rain drop, or foul weather. For those who are familiar with south Florida snow birds, well... lets just say she doesn't come out of the garage much if at all during "season". Not worth the Ohhhh, I'm sorry sonny, I didn't notice the light changed colors!
Have a 1997 355 Spider coming into the shop next month which has been indicated to me as having only 2,184 miles on it. Is there any way to authenticate mileage other than the speedo reading???
overall condition of the interior wear. Bolster and pretty much everything else inside should be perfect to be a 2k mile car. here is a pic of an original 17k mile car, no interior mods or repairs....no leather dying, etc.. So, the car you will be ssing should look much better than these pics... If they are not, I would question the mileage...and please, post some photos when you get the car in Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I don't think so. Just because it has low miles doesn't mean that there wont be wear on the inside. There could be several poseur owners who just like get in the car and sit in and perhaps run the engine on occassion. Lot of garage miles if you know what I mean. I can easily see the bolster wearing out this way after 17 years.

I'll give this thread a few more days, then we will crown the 'winner' and get their prize out! Once again, sorry I forgot about this thread, too much goin on right now
I guess its possible..... but I am always leery of a car with a trashed/worn interior with a sub 20k mile odo. Which means they did not drive it for concern of it losing value but they trashed the interior thinking..... "as long as the miles are low the interior does matter"........... ............. or the odo was rolled back. Its a bad thing no matter which of those is true.....
Anyone else here that can beat ? If not, we are going to send out the prize kerns577 Rookie Silver Subscribed Join Date: Oct 2007 Location: Sarasota Florida Posts: 34 '99 F355F1 spyder
