Can you confirm that it does PIS adjustments?
I've looked into that I know a friend who has it but he doesn't have an F1. Seems the software is somewhat a hacked / copied software of Ferrari's. When I spoke to him about it, he knew next to nothing about it and would just send me screen shots of all the supposed coverage. When I asked questions, he really could not answer so it's pretty clear he did not write any of the software.
I have it but have not tried to do any adjustments. It does come up in the menu but I didn't click on it. Don't want to screw anything up as my clutch is working fine.
Sort of....if you read the threads it cannot(or couldn’t if now sorted) enter decimal point values only integers I.e you can enter 4 or 5 but not 4.7 The same for the new closed clutch parameter.
I just recently bought my F430 last November and used the software a little before winter arrived. Was dealing with what seemed to be slow engagement of the clutch. The wear index was reading high at almost 7000 and have no history on the car. I first attempted to lower the PIS from 5.7mm to 5 which caused to soon of engagement and then once everything was up to temp the car would stall on take off. Not being able to do decimals I had to then go to 6mm which stopped the stalling. I then did a reset of the wear index and that seems to have cleaned the up clutch engagement immensely. I'm thinking the clutch had been replaced by and Indy that may have had no software to reset things. So far the wear index jumped slightly to 4038 and slowly dropped back to 4027. Anxious for spring to get the car back out.
The wear index on mine tends to sit just above 4000 which is where it should be.... It sounds like you might have solved the problem and it just needs some fine tuning. Flash32....no the self learning is where you teach the F1 system where the optimal gear selection is ie it learns the H pattern. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm hopeful it's resolved, between the new motor mounts and wear index reset the engagement felt much smoother and quicker. Would be nice to get ahold of an update that can do the decimal values though, not sure how close to perfect the PIS should be, or if whole mm are acceptable. Probably just leave things as is and get some more miles on it in the spring to see how it's behaving. I also haven't flushed the F1 system yet so that's on the list for march along with giving the whole suspension a good going over to check for anything worn.
I can tell you for a fact that a difference of 0.30 on the PIS setting determines whether the gearbox can shift into reverse when it is hot or not. Yes, the settings within two decimal places is critical.
Good information, then hoping that an updated version at some point will allow the decimal places to work to further finely adjust the value in case selecting 5.0 is still not optimal. I tried to look back through my screenshots of my PIS and Wear Index settings again to refresh my memory as the car hasn't been touched since November. I believe I slightly misstated above. What I remember now, my speculation is what was likely going on was the PIS value of 5.68 was way too loose and over time caused the Wear Index to quickly work it's way up to almost 7000. After I tightened up the PIS from 5.68 to 5.0(4.97) since the software can't do decimals, it's either corrected the problem, or at least brought the value much closer to the correct PIS. In the short time I drove it with the tighter PIS the Wear Index value had already dropped to 6742. So I suspect my stalling was the PIS of 4.97 combined with a super high wear index of almost 7000, causing a situation where the TCU was trying to compensate for a heavily worn clutch that's not actually worn. Once I did the Wear Index reset to 4000 combined with the tighter PIS the engagement felt way better, and after a short drive the Wear Index continued to hold slightly over 4000. This is my first F1 and still have alot to learn, especially with the software to diagnose and adjust things, so any correction to my thoughts here would be greatly appreciated!
...a replacement of my OBDII launch dig tool . I was one of the first to get it when he was offered it for free. What is out there to replace it? Which launch should I get if Mike is not able to help Dominick. Which launch program do you use? The funny thing is......It's in the house somewhere. I f'ing can't find it and it's been a month looking for it.
The thinkdiag2 actually has a more powerful head than the yellow head you are looking for Just use it on Android device
Rather not have a subscription based software. I don't need updates and I don't want to pay every year for functionality. What Launch x431 pro are people using now?
unfortunately unless you find the dongle and get a one time patch for that dongle - you will not be able to get the newest software for the ferrari You can buy a tool from launch (not a thinkdiag2) and never renew as well - but that is 700 - 800
For the people I help - I have been recommending this and it seems to a good value https://a.co/d/hlmRFGU
I don't pay a subscription - I buy the updates on an ad-hoc basis. I updated two manufacturers a couple of days ago and it was something like $8 per manufacturer.
Mark He still needs a dongle from launch .. so he can buy a launch tool and when the subscription expires he can do periodic yearly subscriptions from that place or Prodiag
Hello Dominick, that's a lot of money to spend. I'd buy a dongle from Aliexpress for $70 then use the software from the site I linked above.
I was under the impression that the new serial numbers don't work with patch from diagzone, prodiag etc ... and the thinkdiag2 dongle need to be opened and flashed ? If you have better information please share
mechanicservice6 no longer provides software. He pointed me to someone who does. It's done through WhatsApp. You can't use the latest version of diagzone but the guys software works fine. I have the original launch easy diag and it works just fine. You can still buy them from overseas if you do a search. Better than paying $800 for the ones they sell now.
