I'm usually considered the voice of reason in this otherwise topsy turvy FerrariChat world. (Although some in the NYTS region might disagree with me on that one.)

Actually, if you're unhappy with my responses I'd suggest you look at how you started this thread and the tone that you set.

If you'd like to complain about me or anything else here, you can contact Rob Lay, he's the boss, founded the site, and is a very understanding and reasonable guy. Oh, and moderators don't get paid here, so he's more of a Boy Scout Troop leader than a boss in the traditional sense.

As to my background, I've been a member here a good while, 5 years maybe. I'm the one who got Rob to make this Mid-Atlantic Region up out of a couple other regions, as we didn't seem to fit with the NYTS guys, and the folks farther to the south were a tad too far for us to get together with. I'm a 50+ year old guy with a '72 Dino 246GT that I drive regularly and have won some platinums at concours with. I also count many of the Mid-Atlantic guys here as my friends, and hope they do the same. I run a manufacturing company and dabble in real estate. Enough info yet, or would you like more?

I try not to get unreasonable in my posts, and work hard to maintain my civil tone at all times on here.

Why should we check and see if the facts were correct??? And why would Robbie have any desire to get anyone banned??? If you or anyone else is going to post a stupid thread like that then you should be prepaired for the consequences.

C'mon fellas, lighten up. Dave's entitled to post whatever he wants, as long as it's within the rules.

After all, that's pretty much what we do here, when we're not organizing charity events, or helping a buddy with a problem, or laughing at wetpet's little Luigi car, or drooling over Joe's new 430, or organizing a day of fun at Jon's garage, all of which went to a good cause.

But, I think with this thread we're not being open and friendly, and that's something I always push for, so I'll restart this entire conversation with this:

Nope.

Just trying to see if we can lure him from the dark side. It appears, although I have no specific evidence, that there is some "history" at play here. There's always the possiblility that Dave simply doesn't understand us, or needs an opportunity to get past his old differences and get on with life.

Or there is the possibility that he's a troll, and that no amount of fence mending will work with him. Either way, this thread should sort that out.
