Thank you. I asked just to be sure that the Maserati transporter was not an ex-Ferrari transporter. Here is a photo from a magazine dated 1988. I think this is #002989 before restoration. Right? And what I understand, is that we have two 682RN2 transporters (#003001 and #001461). Right? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wrong. There were four trucks opendeck built by Bartoletti for Ferrari: 1 Fiat 642RN (grey) plate MO 35150 ch. # unknown 2 Fiat 642RN2 (red) plate MO 42628 ch.# 03002, and plate MO 42629 ch.# 02989 1 Fiat 682RN2 (red) plate MO 53210 ch.# 01461 and probably there was also a trailer (not a long wheelbase truck) as seen in a 1960 picture taken in Paris. The truck in the picture is the #02989 when was found painted in blue with plate CR 193373. The Maserati transporter MO43571 was not an ex Ferrari. Ciao Andrea
Dear Andrea, does you can't order the ACI PRA docs for "MO 35150" to see the s/n ? Or does it works only for the cars? regards Ivo

Great photos! One of these is for sale on Anamera but im sure most of you knew that anyway http://www.anamera.com/en/detail/car/80217/index.html?no_cache=1&ret=20&request%5bfilter%5d%5boffset%5d=0&request%5bfilter%5d%5browcount%5d=6&request%5bfilter%5d%5border%5d=year&request%5bfilter%5d%5bdesc%5d=asc&request%5bfilter%5d%5bdealer%5d=1014
No one of these 642 is on sale on Anamera. The one on sale is the 682, a similar truck, but another one. Ciao Andrea
Compare Photo's... Note Fog light in Bumper in Period Photo. Also note Roof Deck forward edge and side step down in Period Photo. Wouldn't want to put a P 4 nose into the front of the Red one. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Were the bumper lamps and deck trim revised in the restoration? The Talacrest ads clearly shows the difference in what is supposedly the same vehicle. http://www.talacrest.com/Ferrari_Sales/Ferrari_Factory_Transporter/2235.htm
The two big fog lights in the bumper were added in 1965. Before that year, in 1964, the truck had two smaller fog lights fixed under the bumper. Till that year, the truck didn't have any fog lights. Due to these modifications also the red stripes (meaning : Italian license for transport of own goods) were re-positioned. The shape of the edge on the roof has been modified between '63 and '64 in order to carry the new cars with lowered nose . The Silma restoration so refers to a pre '63 version despite the sponsors's stickers doesn't match with that period as many other details. Last, the Talacrest advertising page, shows a wrong picture. The #7 refers to one of the two older 642 Rn2, not to the 682 Rn2 now on sale. The metal structure of the deck is different. I know the old adage is if you have to ask.. you can't afford it! But would anyone be so kind as to divulge what the asking price is on the transporter? Are there two for sale?? One with Bill Noon and the other in the UK??
Talacrest limited has a transporter for sale... but Bill Noon also offered a transporter for sale that Jim (Napolis) had been interested in.... 2 different transporters or are either Talacrest or Mr Noon brokering the same transporter?
The same one which after seeing photo's of The chassis pre "Restoration" that were on the restorers site which have since been removed and reading written correspondance I have serious doubts about and if I had bought it upon seeing the above I would have canceled the sale and turned the matter over to my Lawyers. I have archived the above and should anyone post that I don't have evidence of the above I will be happy to accomidate them. Should anyone have evidence that refutes the above I challenge them to post it.
