For the Monza, Ferrari was obviously first and regardless of Mclaren’s marketing speak, their iteration was absolutely inspired by Ferrari.

For the 296 and Mclaren equivalent, I don’t think they look similar at all, and the Mclaren is simply consistent with Mclaren’a overall design language and looks far superior to the 296, IMO.

The 296 came out of no where and if you hide the badge, doesn’t even look like a Ferrari from any angle.

It does look a bit like the SF90. Not saying I like it. The SF90 also doesn’t really look like a Ferrari except the middle part and overall silhouette I guess. Still very much 360/458/488 platform shape with “body kit”.

I see they were going for 250LM hints in the 296 but it’s a “fail” from me. No flow, where the LM was sensual.

Yeah. Ferrari’s modern attempts to recreate the past lately have been a series of fails. They say there is inspiration from the last, even an homage if you will, but the actual cars themselves look like any other androgynous super car out there that could have come out of pretty much any factory.
