...... see the positive benefits of this thread have been far reaching..

My Mrs loves to watch the 'Bold and the Beautiful'. That only covers lies, insults, back stabbing, corruption, adultery etc etc amongst a small group of people (always the same actors in it).

Bugger that, I just read all the 355/348 threads, you get much much more entertainment :) :) :)

    I think it's quite likely.

They are the two best looking Ferraris of the last 40 odd years.

..... OOhh that's a big statement and very subjective. 458, 599, La Ferrari.... No !??

For me I would have to go back 40 years or more for that sort of statement, 250GT SWB, Testarosa, 275, California..... these are the real 'Art on Wheels'.

We will need a bit of time to see if the 355 ever reaches those dizzy heights of worship.

It's a given. The only modern Ferrari which comes close in looks is the 458, and obviously that's far too new and numerous to count at this point.

355 is the next Dino. If not the 355, what is?

It looks like a Ferrari should - beautiful, fast, sexy.
It performs like a Ferrari should - it doesn't just look fast, it actually is.
And, it SOUNDS like a Ferrari should.
Nothing since has come close in terms of sound.

And the engine is in the correct place.
And it was the first Ferrari which could be ordered from the factory with shields.
And with a proper (F1) gearbox.
And it was the last car to be available in the best configuration (GTS).
(Although, having said that, the 458 Spider is really a GTS with an electric roof).

Errr.... what else have I missed which would upset the purists?...

    :)

I think you just about covered it, Steve. But it is hard to become the next Dino when you're not a Dino - and you have 11,000 brothers, sisters & cousins.

I agree it will follow the dino path. I'm very good friends with an auctioneer at Bonhams who said yesterday that the 355 will warrant handsomely over 100k GBP shortly.

Just got back from a summers evening drive in the 355 and it was purring. Driven 458's , 430's etc and I can honestly not think of a nicer place to be than in the cockpit of my 355 with the sun beaming down and an open country road, even when it does incur maintenance costs, it's worth every penny! :)

There ya are! How do you do it? Amazing!

Someone whispers to a corpse at a funeral that a 355 is worth more, or better than, a 360 and you appear *POOF*
