I recall entering a competition promoting Beverley Hills Cop 2 to win a Ferrari 328 I recall in the actual movie the car that Axel Foley drove was a 308 in some scenes and a 328 in some other scenes Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I remember that competition clear as day. It was on Channel 9's MTV hosted by Richard Wilkins. I never entered but I remember the winner was drawn on air on a Saturday night and believe it or not, is was won by "so and so" from Beverly Hills in NSW !! I remember Richard couldn't believe it when he read it out. And here is the magical changing 308/328 from the opening credits.
How funny is that? I guess they realised the 328 didn't have the power to do a slide, so they had to change to a 308.
Yeah that... or more realistically they had trouble sourcing a new 328 back in 1986 and had to use the runout 308 for the driving scene and use the 328 for the start and end. The 328 was too valuable to get damaged during the driving scenes. 308's were a dime a dozen.
I knew how unloved and uninspiring the 328 was going to be... Hang on, don't you own a 365 GT4 2+2 ??!!
Bob Jane ended up with this Lambo. I had a couple of rides in it back then when I was doing a lot of work for them. It handled like a truck at low speeds
I just can't believe a GT4 2+2 driver would say a 328 is unloved and uninspiring. Where is any evidence what so ever to back up either of those two descriptions for a 328 ??!!
