I read somewhere (too lazy to find it) that F1 will, from now on, be run by "the F1 commission" in the FIA. That's probably another way for Max to save face. Control goes to the commission, and I bet the rules for who that includes and how they are chosen was very much agreed to by FOTA. I wouldn't be surprised to see FOTA having a veto or having the right to appoint members to that board.

How utterly priceless would it be if Ron Dennis shows up somewhere on that panel.

As for Max, he's trying to salvage what he can from this. He's probably looking to move into some sort of career elsewhere with some level of power. It's clear that part of his deal was that he gets a "good reference" for his job, and LdM is saying he was a good leader, etc, etc. Sure, Luca, you loved the guy :D

But in terms of the FIA, Max is toast, and the FIA power has been neutered.

Frequent rule changes are good not bad. Remember the word "Formula" in Formula One is meant to designate that each team is given the same formula and have them each build their own car to the specifications of that formula...whoever does the best job ends up with the best car and likely wins the WCC as long as they have at least an average F1 level driver...

Dude! Now I'm sure you're either:
    1. Really joking
    2. Trolling.......

No argument from me there. It's just that one of the root arguments of FOTA was that Mad Max's constant rule changes was costing 'em millions. They want rules stability, not constant changes.

    Cheers,
    Ian

It was an idle threat made at a time of desperation. "Apres moi le deluge"
What is worrisome is that the job itself has tended to corrupt the incumbent no matter who.

He's a crazy man! They say crazy things!

The good news is, assuming Mike's post is indeed correct, it really won't matter anymore:

If that's true, and I have no reason to believe it's not, the teams didn't just win this battle, they raped and pillaged along the way!

    Cheers,
    Ian

Well lets hope this is the dawn of a new era...

Equal opportunity means everyone will have a fair chance at being incompetent, but when people are free to do as they please, they usually imitate each other....trust Max No way ..not till he is 6ft under.

The constant formula changes result in innovations and expand the gray areas to make a better car. If the formula stayed the same, car design would be stagnant with no new technology developed to make the cars better...

To me, after all the utter rubbish Max spewed about this man, I think it would be the perfect "two fingered salute" to have Jackie Stewart replace Mad Max!
