Need your thoughts. My primary email is Gmail and I'm investigating whether I would benefit from this email client. Please post your thoughts.

    It's decent.

I use it to check all my e-mail accounts , including G-Mail, in a single click.

Here's a handy tool to backup all your Firefox/Thunderbird settings and data:

Will this check Hotmail too? I tried one of the FireFox add-ons and for some reason it was blocked for Hotmail e-mail alerts.

I do not know if Hotmail allows POP3 access.

I use it but not for my gmail account. It's pretty good. I'll probably upgrade to the new version this weekend.

t-bird is IMO far & away the best desktop e-mail client out there. I check e-mail from multiple locations & so I just stick w/the web interface for Gmail, but if I went w/a desktop client this would be it. Love Firefox & have used Thunderbird for my ISP's mail in the past, and love it.

I've been using Thunderbird since it's inception, with the biggest reason being: it's not Outlook, it's not Outlook Express, so it doesn't have all the holes in it.
    It works great for me.

    IMO: better than Outlook.

I switched over a year ago, and haven't looked back. It filters junkmail MUCH MUCH better than hotmailand just plain works well.

Gmail's web interface is superior IMO than Thunderbird.

Sorry I was vauge heh, it's just that Thunderbird still can be improved.

I'm going to try it again, but then again I'm on Mac OS X and Mail.app is so well integrated.
