Nice looking track design... I'm guessing they're going to run it clockwise? Have they already established what the initial track rental rate is going to be for a weekend day?

With the liberal use of Ferraris on their website, it sure seems like FCA-NC should get first dibs at laying down some rubber. Bob... give these guys a call! Let them know that we're VERY capable of testing their tire-walls, catch-fences, kitty-litter trucks, etc.

:) Any day, any time. Sounds good to me.

You forgot about their lake-retrieval system...

This seems like the third or so track proposal I have seen in NC in the past two months. Is it for sure they are going to build it? What about the others?

I'm pretty sure this one is getting built. I've known about it for a while... and it looks like they have permission from the county to start construction now.

    Awesome

. . . 2.3 miles, about the same length of VIR's south course.

    Bob,
When did they finally approve this? We've been following this for over a year now and things keep getting delayed, the developer almost filed for bankrupcy, etc. delay after delay.

The Porsche club already has 2 guaranteed weekends with them if we want them....just not sure what year!

Thats a really bad sign. I seriously have my doubts that this will get built now.

Actually, Bob, High Rock at 2.3 miles is about the same as VIR North Course, Mid Ohio, Mosport and Laguna Seca.

This project is not getting the finance traction it needs to get beyond planning right now. Same with Tamworth, Dragons Ridge and other projects. The High Rock principals were seeking ten individuals at 1.2M for working capital and several wrote back saying they'd have better luck asking a hundred for 120K. They've got some full time staff and some marketing people working for them, but there's been no site work for some time and the web site is very outdated. Aurora Motorsports did not buy the building and is out of business.

Coverage was on Channel 2 Greensboro Monday night just before it went to the Rowan County Commissioners for annexation into the city of Spencer. It passed but don't know what that might do to speed up construction. It might help overcome some objections to the use of the land.

That's the most positive news I've seen in a long time. That would be great!!

BTW, any of you hot-shoes that actually want to LEARN how to drive on the track sometime are more than welcome to register for the PCA Drivers Eds that we run at CMP and VIR. We give preference for the first few weeks to PCA members, but you should be able to get in if you sign up early. Our next DE is in October, then December at VIR.

Just FYI, while you wait patiently for High Rock...

I thought this endeavor had died. The rumors were hotter than a match a few months ago, but then just evaporated. I had even heard that High Rock had hired the manager from Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, AL. (That's not good!)

Ok I knew this deal sounded familier. One of my neighbors was solisited and showed this to me a while back. He thought they were nutz. He thought they should build it closer to a real city like Raleigh or even Willimington or Ashville. (SP?)

maybe they couldn't find the right land or get the permit anywhere else... besides I think its in a great spot around Salisbury... off of 85, so easy interstate access, and also in the middle of the state, sounds like a perfect spot to me...

Yea, my fault. I thought this was going on near Feyett-nam for some dumb reason.

I have been in contact with Frank for quite a while. I usually stop by on my way to Charlotte to see how the progress is going. The main issue is gathering up all the money which is almost there but a little short so its been delayed over and over. Hopefully everything works out in the end but they always told me whenever they start on the project for me to come on down and they will show me around as they are surveying and breaking ground.

Nice to see another track opening up. What ever happened to Dragon's Ridge near Williamsburg? Anyone know?

Someone needs to build a track in Giles County, Va.

If this happens it is going to make western NC a very nice place to live.
