Who wants to see The Who

If I can change some appointments, what time is the show and when would you leave?

 

I'm planning on being there and look forward to it. A succulent steak at Council Oak and then the show. I love dragging my wife, the disco queen, to rock shows. I think she is beginning to see the light.....

 

When White Snake releases their new album and goes on tour, I will be there.

I don't know about any snakes but the Who concert was great! WC

 

I've been lucky enough to go to concerts by most every major group. I have seen John, Paul ,George and Ringo; Keith and Mick; Jimi H; James Brown, Mellencamp, Joel, Bruce, Henley/Frey and friends, Bowie, even Peter Noone, but I missed Jim Morrison, Freddie Mercury, and Keith Moon.

Won't get fooled again.

That's the "Who's Who" list. Seeing Hendrix would have been neat. The question is, do you remember the show?

 

I did not inhale.

And actually, the second time I saw Hendrix, XMAS break at Xavier University, Cincinnati. First 10 rows were saved for the student body of which 99.9% went home for the holidays. I was in row 11. I asked security if I could move up at the start of the show.

I did, to row 1. And they let me wander around the stage taking photos. I have some close ups of Hendrix. As soon as I find them in storage, I will scan and show you.

First time I saw the Stones, I was one of 400 in attendance. I wasn't old enought to drive, so I went with a friend's older brother. An image that will "Not Fade Away".

 

It is funny how some really good acts play the college campuses. I remember seeing Robert Cray on the patio at UM around 1988 and there were about 20 people watching. He had the Knight Center booked the following night and it was sold out. I watched the show with a nice cooler of beer by my side. He was one of my favorite blues guitarists at the time. the next year the feature act was 'Simply Red'. UGH!

I was on the Boardwalk at Seaside Heights in NJ back in the 80's and some group I never heard of was filming a music video. The guys in the band all had long hair, and one of them was wearing a long trechcoat and they were handing out with some sleezy looking girls next to an old 50"s Cadillac signing albums and givng them out to people. I wasnt into "hair bands" so I just keep walking. I should have gone over and got one- The band was Bon Jovi!

A girl I worked with husband played in a band and one night Bruce Springsteen came in to the place they were playing an invited everyone in the band back to his house. My co-workers husband called her up and said for her to come over and hang out with them. She hung up the phone and said, "It's late, I'm tired and am going back to sleep."

 

Celebrities are usually normal people that like to hang out with normal people.

I met Haddaway in Monaco at a bar. Turns out he was from Cologne, Germany and had a very heavy Cologne-accent (kind of like a Chinese guy speaking like Boomhauer with the TX brawl). We got to talk and had a great time. At the end of the day he gave us his phone number. We stayed in touch for a while even when we moved to Miami a few weeks later.
Man, when he wanted he just started singing in the bar. His songs may have been cheesy but his voice is awesome. He got the bar quiet and all guest were listening to a free concert.

My point: all normal people that just want to hang out like everybody else. I believe they enjoy not being treated special for those few hours and enjoy you for being good company.
