    Between Rubens & Button?

I'd say Rubens. He's more experienced, been in this position before. I just have a feeling that Button is slowly crumbling under pressure. Lets face it...he never had a chance, or experience.

But frankly, this past 4-6 races, i think Rubens has been driving very solid and consistently.

Jenson still has a decent lead in the WDC. In terms of marketing and press coverage, I think more people would be receptive to JB as a world champion, and if it were Rubens, some might question the difficulty of the sport given his age. I'm not saying that to be critical of Rubens, but I think it's just the reality of the situation that Ross Brawn would get more out of winning the WDC if it were Jenson rather than Rubens.

He can't pick Jenson over Rubens because there's no way in hell Rubens would listen to any team orders again. He can't pick Rubens over Jenson because Jenson has a massive lead.

He's just going to have to let it shake out naturally.

If jenson keeps driving like he did in the past 4 races it will be rubens naturally.

Agree from a marketing perspective that Jenson would be much better, but RB is outdriving him at the moment and has been very close to him all year in times. The fortune that Jenson had early in the year is now swinging to RB, and things must be getting tight in the Brawn Camp...

When has Rubens been in a position to fight for the title? Prior to Sunday he hadn't won in 5years. His last title was back in 1991 in F3. His best position outside of Ferrari years was 6th in the title. All his wins have only ever happened in the 2nd half of the season(ok maybe a good thing  ). He has never won in Brazil the race he want's the most. He lost his mind after the race last weekend. Being 2nd behind Schumie is not classed as being in the position before in my books :p

Don't get me wrong I do like Rubens  but Button still has the advantage here.

I actually meant this high up in the WDC standings. I just have a feeling that Jenson is over cooking the situation...and he might just throw away the title like Hammi did in 2007.

Notice how solid Rubens suddenly became? And with his Valencia win, he's definitely more hungry now.

+1...Always liked Barrichelo and never doubted his speed...not consistant or egocentered enough for a champion...but with this car, team, and given this unique situation...

Barrichelo in JB neck...I put my money on the old timer.

I wouldn't call scoring pts in every race this year as throwing the title away just yet.

Correct. I can not for the life of me understand why folk are so quick to bash a driver or big up a driver for winning or losing a race, as it turned out IMO Button hasn't damaged his title hopes that much in this last race, the wins as long as they are spread amongst numerous drivers will help him.

I would say had it been Webber or Vettel winning that would have been more damaging to his quest on the WDC.

What I have gleaned from the last race is that Brawn have upped there car Redbull haven't.

So it remains to be seen whether Red bull can up it or Rubens beats Button on a regular basis but I doubt the later unless Button bottles it with pressure.

Rubens has 1 more year at best with his team then he'll be driving with the IRL.

Everyone has been so focused on Jenson, but everyone is forgetting the role a second driver plays...Who was the back up to MS when he won everything?
Ross Brawn and Rubens have a very long standing relationship.

...and one more point...Being around race tracks for a very long time, there is usually one sign that appears just before a driver comes undone...It's when he starts showing up at the track with a piece of ass following him everywhere...

    Oh?

Why don't you tell us what Jenson did prior to this year?! Jenson has never had a season like this, while Rubens has been 2nd in the WDC several times with Ferrari. Jenson's only victory prior to this golden Brawn year was when the real drivers all crashed out in the rain.

I'd certainly rather seen Rubens take the WDC than Jens, but we will see. I think Vettel may already have too many DNFs and Webber just doesn't have the combination of luck and/or consistency to be WDC, so that leaves one of the Brawn drivers to likely take it.

See. I think Rubens has the momentum now. After a crappy start, he fought, and nursed the sick car around the last 3 laps.

i think the pressure is certainly mounting on Button. Monza will be do a die.

Long term I would choose JB. RB is my favorite driver, but he is long on the tooth, and shows moments of brilliance, but I would say RB peaked at Ferrari, and JB is peaking this year.

RB still has one more year in him as he wants to drive in 300 GP's which would be next year.
