    Was changing spark plugs on my '76 308 and couldn't get one of the new plugs to start threading so I poked my flexible magnet into the spark plug recess and it came out with the debris shown in the photo.

    What happened is when I pulled the spark plug extender off the old plug, the clip inside the extender broke off, dropping the clip and the broken pieces into the spark plug recess. When I removed the old plug the clip and debris were left dangling on the lip of the spark plug hole making it impossible to fit the new plug. Luckily, the pieces were left on the lip rather than falling into the cylinder.

    Just to make sure no debris made it into the cylinder I rigged an old magnet onto a piece of coat hanger and stuck it in and out of the cylinder. Finding nothing in the cylinder, I put the new plugs in and everything was fine.

    Probably a good idea to buy new extenders. I'm sure this one broke due to metal fatigue (heating up and cooling down over the last 28 years) and the others are not far behind. Also a good idea when removing spark plugs on these older cars to look at the inside of the extender to see that all is still intact before removing the spark plug.

    Would appreciate info on where I can get 8 new extenders and the rubber shrouds that go with them.

    There is a set on ebay for $70 I think. Search ebay under Ferrari parts & accessories ....should get you close.
