Yes, I think Lexus took a lot of buyers from benz, particularly with their after-sales attitude. The last new benz I bought was no different to buying a Ford. Lexus buyers meanwhile got showered with opera tickets, pickup and delivery of your car for servicing, etc.
For a year in around 1987/8 I had as a company car a Cressida twin cam sedan ,I would do nearly 200kms a day in it 6 days a week ,it was a good thing .
As with most 'luxury' versions of ordinary car,they will always only be mutton dressed as lamb. Statesmen,LTD's all the Japa's and nearly all the Yank stuff.

I'm stuffed if I know why they play Marnus in limited over matches. He got lucky last innings but he's a great test player. Thankfully they sacked Green for Head's return,he shouldn't be in any national cricket team IMO.
Yep! They love you to death. When we were looking for a family car, my wife wanted a Lexus RX 350, and nothing else. Believe me, I tried to get something else (like an RS6), but she was... stubborn. Taking the kids to kindy one day, a car turned right across in front of her and hit her head on. Both cars were written off, but she and the kids walked away without a scratch. Guess what? I went straight out and bought another one. It performed its function perfectly. No complaints here (although now she wants a Bentley Bentayga).
