Maybe I'm naive but how is this a political matter? Two low-rent f-wits did something they shouldn't have. Both should have been fired for misconduct and that should have been it. If there was anything illegal going on, well press charges and take it to court like the rest of us do. Or maybe I'm just missing something here. From everything I've read, she only became upset about it when it was clear she was going to lose her job and/or had a chance to score $$$$ out of it.
$5000 for some new catalytic converters = bargain $500 for an oil change that I could do myself = not so much of a bargain But you know, the paper trail monster needs to be fed.
That is largely true. But it was weaponised by Labor (with strategy driven by her current fiancée whom is a real piece of work), knowing that they could do enormous damage to the Morrison government with this issue. Throw in the lefty media (Project, ABC, etc) cheering her on* and here we are. It is impossible to view the payout to her as anything but a reward from Labor. Let’s hope the anti-corruption mob reverse it (fat chance unfortunately) *one of the other revelations to come out this week is that Lehrmann received almost half a mill compensation from these media organisations for their part in this.
Agree, being found naked in a minister's office at 4.00am NUDE , She would have been sacked and the other grub showed the door as well. All we are seeing now is a grab for cash at our expense the taxpayer, some of the old FARTS around my area on the aged pension still blame the LIBS , easy to do so when you're on a Govt handout that WE via direct and indirect tax pay for.
I just don't understand how this is even a workplace issue (hence the reason for the compensation).. Seriously explain it to me... If I bring some bint back to my employer's office and give her one at 1am, how is my employer to blame for this? Surely this conduct would be on me, right? Dodgy precedent, especially in these times that "The workplace" is often our own homes. Basically anything bad that happens to any of us in the workplace, whether it's at 1am on a Saturday morning or any other can be blamed on our employers and compensation should be expected? But I realise the rules are different for those who work in the public space compared to the rest of us who live in reality-land. I mean we actually have to work for our income, rather than just soaking it up from the taxpayer. This f*ckers live in a different world.
So, a bird whom was on $78k a year voluntarily went out and got ****faced with a co-worker, then went back to the workplace with him, and finally woke up hungover and in the nuddy on the boss’s couch. For that she is paid $2.4m of taxpayers money in a one-day negotiation involving no one except the new government, her and her lawyers, and despite none of her claims ever being proven in court. Righto. Seems reasonable… Beam me up, Scotty!
doctors? Worth every cent compared to these numpties. If the likes of these two lost their jobs, who would notice.
I agree, but I've heard of what admins get and it's not insignificant DFRDB is a gold mine if you can get it
Here lies my question -I like to think of myself as being savvy business-wise and street-smart. In the Federal case running at the moment, Higgins was only a witness (yes a critical one ) Question -Who is paying for her legal team which includes a high-end Melbourne Lawyer 20k a day? His assistance $? And the lady in red is a PR-type person, who is like a minder 2k a day? Who has done PR Media work for Andrews and Gillard! It doesn't add up, is there a group behind this protecting their own involvement? I THINK WE ALL KNOW WHO.
It's extraordinary how a person of such minuscule substance has so dominated the media for 3 years. All because Labor used her as an opportunity to discredit Morrison with female voters.
