How did you locate the seatbelts to the floor ?,so often people fit modern belts to old cars and just drill holes and bolt them in -not much value in a crash when they rip out of the location .

The Vette had 3 point belts as a factory option, so threaded fittings are welded into the chassis.

    Standard belts were lap only.

I think the car he really wants is the 365 GT/4 2+2. It's just that under its current configuration, it is inappropriate for his needs.

The 928 is just another OHOS with all the deferred maintenance issues all those 40 year old jalopies do. The 1981 928S I have cost almost $35,000 to recommission, and it had 68,000 kms on it when I bought it. And it was looked after well, mostly. The two you list above are rubbish, unless you were very, very keen.

I keep coming back to a manual Mustang 5.0

The Espada is just nuts. Even I wouldn't own one.

I like the F-Type. The problem is no spare and big wheels. I'm not sure you'd even fit a spare in it?

Bizarre you'd buy a car to suit women IMO. The 308 is supremely comfortable, I haven't had any female friends that didn't like it. Even in summer.

Yeah - I completely agree with your sentiments.

I thought Simon was able to procure a diff with the correct final drive or procured the correct manual crown wheel and pinion and this was fitted?

If not, go and get one and keep the 365. I think his 365 looks absolutely magnificent.

Yeah, its going to expensive? Still might be less than the hit he takes on selling the car.

RE: 928 - as I said, I wouldn't buy one unless I knew the cost to resolve its issues. Once I saw the cost, I would knock it back as I don't love 928's that much.

RE: only woman I dated that would've loved the 308 was Tina - she did buy a FK8 Honda Type R as a family car after all - I have to admit, how many mum's do the school run in Type R? Very cool. She hated SUV's too!

RE: what's so insane about an Espada? Is the Bizzarini designed V12 more expensive to maintain than the Ferrari V12?

Good. Let me know when you find one. I'll have a Series 3 manual. They look good in every colour, so no problems there.

My wife encouraged me to buy the QV, and has driven it to lunch with the girls, etc. When I sold the Elan, she thought I should have another project and suggested a Miura (not quite au fait with the market, but I love the way she thinks).
Agree on the Espada - a fabulous car.

It has come down to a choice of two.

    Current style Mustang V8 manual

    or

Kerrari's 308 thingy -with bumpers NON painted, exterior mirrors repaired (no longer hanging on doors) AND Murrays cambelt shield CORRECTLY fitted.!

    Kerrari's 308?
It'll be sad day when she sells it - I love her story for the car.

Has Klink ever owned a Alfetta GTV6?
Just look at how clean this is?

I'd like to see how much better this is over the standard car?
    https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/1984-alfa-romeo-gtv-6-manual/SSE-AD-14411156/?Cr=2

I loved my Alfetta GTV-6 and I have a real soft spot for them. I throughly enjoyed visiting the Alfa Romeo museum but it sad indictment of how that company is managed when even Italians don't buy them anymore.

As an aside, I'd be sorely tempted to buy a 4C in competizione red (metallic red) or 33 Stradale edition if the right car came up next year.

GTV 6 would be a good choice with a stroked motor, but they're just too expensive now compared to the modern stuff ,1M BMW would be a great choice.

Not to mention build quality. I’ve had a couple of 80s ALFAs and the build quality was atrocious

    Same rubbish build.

For the price asked for those GTV 6s, one could buy a low-production build Bimmer 1M
