I was thinking about this today. Similar but a Jensen Interceptor with a manual conversion. That gives you a bullet proof driveline. Huge parts support for the 440, same for the Tremec. Diff is a Salisbury so plenty of parts and, if you can't find them, a minor housing mod will see Dana 60 bits slide in - the most supported diff on the market. So, cool car and bullet proof driveline. All you have to do then is get Gizzi to go through the electrics.
We saw this car at Bathurst one year, was a manual. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
When I 1st decided to do Group SC Historic, my 1st choice as an XJS ,CAMS said no due to Goss racing one as a touring car,I pointed out Group 44 in North America running them in sports car racing still no, oh well would have been a great project. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Perfect .full size spare wheel , in 5th gear on the highway one would close to 20mpg at 110-115 kph .
If that XJS was black rather than blue, I’d seriously consider it! I like my Jaguars in one colour - black!
The XJS platform is really rather good - lots of options to make it handle really well and much better suspension than a similar period BMW or Mercedes. Get the electrics, water pump and radiator properly sorted and those Jags are pretty reliable.
I have a recollection that the XJS was built on the (shortened XJ6) XJC platform? I had an Aussie neighbour in London who bought a new one in the early 80's, to make a profit when he returned to Sydney LOL.
spot on - they’re all based on the shortened XJ platform. The Brits did everything on the cheap - great engineering made poorly!
They were a thousand pounds in London in '89 and STILL no-one wanted them, HOS, wouldn't give you a dollar for one
