Yep, that's the go. If Greg is going to have them vac and charge the system, then he can fit the drier or have them do it and add oil the same time they charge the system. The way he works, it wouldn't surprise me if he's purchased one of these aircon machines at home. Image Unavailable, Please Login
All under control. I've done my "research" I bought a vacuum pump and set of manifold gauges so will do it all myself. Will be running it on hychill, have all the relevant oil, rings etc
Bloody hell! Was about to say, I could send you a set of manifold gauges also but you've got that covered. Sounds like you're all over it, when you go to vac it down, do it for 10 minutes, then close the taps on the manifold gauges and turn the vac pump off and see if it holds vac for 3o mins. If it holds vac for 30 mins, then you should be all to vac that bad boy down for at least 12 to 24 hrs. Then close the taps on the manifold gauges, turn the vac pump off and see if it holds vac for for the next 36 to 48 hrs. I vacced my 348 a/c for 24 hrs and let it hold vac for 48 hrs before we charged the system to make sure there were no pesky/slow leaks over that couple of days lol. Was all good of course.
Hychill is extremely cold. I've upgraded my system, so it runs OK on R134a, but the old system ran on Hychill. Also, the propane molecule is larger, so less leakage through old hoses (unless you've changed them too)
It was only about $400, no biggie, plus I enjoy sorting things out on my own. Yep I will do as suggested
I like it COOOOOOOL. The hoses will be new apart from maybe the hose from the compressor to the evaporator as the routing seems too difficult at the moment.
