Whom likes a Mondial?

Hi mate,

A lot of things to it of course. I am not too worried about serious engine damage, it's just the basics.

If there is cam belts involved, I reckon anything over 2 years you probably wouldn't wanna start it up without changing the cam belt lol.

Timing chain, meh, crank it over minus fuel or spark to build some engine oil pressure and then fire away lol

Seals and that can go rock hard of course, you might be lucky nothing will leak when it's up and running again.

Then there is gearbox oil, brake fluid, coolant etc etc The list goes on if you are also talking about an engine in a car or truck.

All good fun.

 

I want to go and buy a Mondial, just so I can fit the same battery cover into it.

What does the toolkit in your Mondial look like,black rollup wallet style or Leather Shedoni case and are both/either typical for the car?

 

Same as my 348 from memory, leather Shedoni case.

 

The mondial tool kit was the black roll up style, at least that's what was in my old Mondial

To those whom know this stuff,how can I qualify if a particular car is Aussie delivered ?
Is an Aussie fitted silver compliance plate enough?

If so it's be rare for a car not to feature in the Aussie club register I'd have thought given it's 38 years old.

 

Green plate, I think. And the chassis numbers are specific for any given market
