I must say I like very much the 328 coupes ,such a pity they were never sold here new
With the exception of Horse, which really is the most beautiful GTS in Australia, I thought my 308 was the best looking GTS QV. As soon as i saw it on Pistonheads in 2012, I had to buy it, after missing out on a Blu Sera 308 GTB QV by procrastinating too much. Sure I regretted selling it in mid 2015 as it was in my top 3 favourite Ferraris (still is) but family issues, finances and the Carl being MIA for much of time (in hindsight, a bit more communication about the situation with his family - the same as I'm going through now - would've made the situation a bit more palatable ) just got the better of me. The investments made using the money and joining the Aston Club went some way towards compensating for the loss of the Ferrari. But with time, I actually understood that 308 represented everything I loved. Material possessions don't make you but there a few things you buy or do - a particular car, a particular watch, the clothes you wear, the kind of house or furniture you buy or even the pets you own or where you travel that represent your values and sum up who you are and who you want to be. No matter what some people say, Brands do matter if they have substance and integrity behind them. Which is is why most brands don't matter. When I sold the 308, my employer, work colleagues, my parents all said I did the best thing. Only my 71 year old secretary and defacto Auntie Sandra said i made a dumb decision. Why? because she said you just sold your dream and in the process, your soul. She was right. If I held on, I would've been ok. When I first met David in 2015, I imagined our teenage versions both looked dreamingly into the Ferrari showrooms on the same summer nights in our respective cities (Adelaide and Melbourne) and imagined the day we got our 308's and experienced new adventures and opportunities. The plan was to buy a GTB this year but life got in the way as many of you are aware. Roll on next year. Slay the dragons, drive the Ferrari. Stunning colors . Great post. I was lucky to have a friend who sold his very early 246 (trade) on a as new 308 QV in around 1986- like 3,000km car ,i drove it a lot ,they are a good thing ,I don't know why I never bought one just never crossed my mind and the Porsche buying started .
P.S I reckon I drove the car 50% of the time with the top off. When it was on, it was because it was in the middle of a hot day or it started raining.
This is why, I.....never...........sell..............anything!! It would be instant sellers remorse for me. Thanks for sharing man, I remember seeing pics of this car when you first got it and it's the most beautiful colour combo on any Ferrari IMO. Your car looks fantastic in these pics, definitely a shame you had to sell it, but things happen for a reason. Hopefully you step into a GTB as soon as possible Rennie.
I don’t mind the switch gear as it screams 80’s to me,, suits the 328 I guess,, But much prefer the QV seats, well at least the seat pattern.. 328 seat pattern looks a bit bland in comparison
