That's cool man, do you have any pics of it when it was gold? Or any pics of which colour gold it should be?
Here is mine. Bought 2019 gutted it to build racecar in mostly stock race class. I'm actually racing this weekend Image Unavailable, Please Login
No I don’t have any pics of it when it was Gold.. Actually My dad bought it and it was a sort of Royal Blue but he had it resprayed in the current red.. Though there is the evidence of the original Gold colour under the bonnet. We went to Italy in 79’ for a holiday and he had it resprayed whilst we were away.. He also had dual Chrome side pipes installed at the same time as the resprayed and it looked the business, but within 3 months of installing them, he was defected by a cop stating noise pollution.. My dad was so pissed off, he never did any other modification to the car after that.. Around the same time of the GT4 swap, He had the 289 rebuilt,, Can’t remember if it was before or after.. In Italy, prior to migrating to Australia, He owned an Alfa Romeo SS (Sprint Speciale).. He left it there when he moved with the hope of bringing it here but when he discovered that Australia was a RHD country, he had his brother sell it and send him the money.. With that he bought the Mustang,,He told me that in the yard at the time, they had a Cobra next to the Mustang..Cobra was $6K, Mustang was $4700,,but my mum didn’t like the Cobra stating it was impractical so the Mustang it was,,Yes I know, like a Mustang is practical for a family car.. Later on towards the end of his life, His dream car was a Testarossa, Unfortunately cancer got in the way of that dream..
Dead man’s cars. I have one. They only change hands when the owner dies. Main reason Maddy has a manual licence. Silly signature here to annoy KIAI
Thanks for sharing man, that was a nice story. And sorry to hear about the way your Dad went out, life sux.
Unfortunately, I don't think any of my girls will want my old ****ter when I die. Should I leave it to a future son inlaw that I already know I am not going to like? Mmmmmmmmmmmm, nah. **** him.
Thanks Pap, I know you went through a similar thing as well.. We grow up believing that our Dads are bulletproof but reality is what it is...
