Sounds good to me https://www.news.com.au/finance/economy/interest-rates/hand-over-fist-wild-way-donald-trump-is-about-to-impact-aussie-economy/news-story/746a948a1a2dd2b5db23f583aac729be
LOL! Trump 'doesn't care about the stock market' because he creamed about $100m form the gullible MAGAs who bought his meme coin! The US stockmarket still exceeds more than 100% of US GDP - ask yourself how that works? Sure, government benefits need to be curtailed - just try getting elected on a platform of : INCREASING the Medicare copayment INCREASING the PBS copayment DITCHING government child care INCREASING the threshold for pensions DITCHING government contributions to private schools (incidentally, this was brought in by Whitlam in the 70s to address the poorer quality of education that Catholic parish schools provided - never intended to build 'sandstone' campuses such as here on the Coast where they have a $50m Olympic pools complex) DITCHING negative gearing of residential housing DITCHING private trade training 'schools' and their associated labour hire companies (this is what has cruelled the construction industry). Everyone whinges about government spending but no one's willing to give up anything!
I’d scrap all the middle class welfare tomorrow, but you’d never get away with it. Once people have received it for a little while, the level of expectation and entitlement is off the charts. I occasionally have to listen to very highly paid medical people whining about the cost of child care or whatever and why doesn’t the government give them more money. Makes me sick.
Makes me laugh, I never got any help with my two kids, my wives stayed home to look after the kids I did get a $50 bonus first my first child, paid for 6 cartons of beer
Exactly - just like medical insurance went up over night by exactly the 30% rebate Howard introduced; NDIS and elders home care skyrocketed as soon as private 'service providers' came in. Private and public service should be clearly delineated and public services provided by public providers.
