I am! The entry list is packed, and I think it'll be a great race.
me! Second ALMS race of the year for me (also went to Long Beach); love it. Great grid for Petit, too.
A real nice group of cars....... now sure you know I'm gonna be wanting the Lizards to take it but I also think this is going to be a great race with all the 458's in there as-well. (I'm very curious to see how the new dct trans works on this long race). Good luck to all!!!
Even tho I have to watch on laptop... Noted Robertson Racing (Doran Ford GT) only has one of their cars entered.
No live TV. No Radio Le Mans broadcast evidently. ESPN3.com only good if you have a certain cable provider (still don't quite get that if it's going out over the Internet...). It's as though the ALMS is playing a shell game with it's product that we're supposed to jump through all sorts of hoops to see live. What's to get excited about? BHW
It's streaming great on ESPN3 with Hindy, but it sucks that not everybody can get it. Great racing so far at lap 216.
Really really really disappointed I have missed ALMS all season long. Really hope next year is different
I've been watching it on ESPN3. But if you don't have that go here: http://www.justin.tv/rampageturke2
I've been doing Justin TV on my phone all day. ESPN 3 pswds email addys and user names for them and then your cable co. I tried for an hour and just quit.
Atherton addressed this in his 2012 pep talk. He said, to the effect, they got their license renewal with the ACO through next year and perhaps beyond, the television package remains the same but adding four live races and basically seems to be fiddling while Rome burns. With BMW and Corvette set to pull out, the very future of the Petit Le Mans event itself on the line, the ALMS taking on fourth tier support series as viable options building up to their main events and an ever revolving door of marketing directors shuffling in and out each year, what will we be seeing live at these four races? The whole lot of them ought to be flushed the minute the checkered flag falls tonight. They're losing entry and market share to a third rate, dumbed down series only NASCAR could design which has shot it's self in the foot so many times there is no foot left. Dosent bode well for us guys, it's disapponting. BHW
great result for Ferrari! They won gtc as well with Krohn. excellent battle for second in GT between Flying Lizard and the Rahal M3. seeing the Audi and Peugeot diesels in action was awesome. and the howl of the V12 Aston prototype reminded me of a V12 Ferrari f1 car from the early 90s. more yellows than I'd like to see, but otherwise a great race. I hope the ALMS survives, they have a great on-track product.
is there a series anywhere on the planet which you a) enjoy watching and b) don't think is run by a bunch of idiots?
not really, didn't take my camera (didn't want to drag that and a scanner around all day); that was a mistake. Gatorarri has posted a ton of pics in the Southeast section, go check those out. I did capture this right at the end of the race (Dyson P1 car spun right in front of me, on the exit of 2). pic from my iphone. Image Unavailable, Please Login
458 already won with Risi at Road America in August. BTW, surprised there was nothing on FChat about the 458 GT2 winning the GTE Pro class (including drivers championship) in the LeMans Series a couple of weeks ago. They followed this up with another win last weekend.
Very sorry, I've been so out of the loop with ALMS!! I thought it was posted here that they clinched GTE Pro, I think it was buried in a thread. I could be wrong though
they made it to the end, I didn't hear of any trans-related issues. finally, the race cars have a gearbox as advanced as the street cars
Corvette's not going anywhere. I spoke with Doug Fehan yesterday morning and says that they will have a new car with wider bodywork and direct injection, and expect to be back next year as a full contender.
