Let me know if you're going!
I don't think any owners are going due to everyones mutual dislike for the local fca chapter. I won't be going.
Not worth the effort. Thy have ~30 cars registered. The PV car show is the same day. That is where the enthusiasts will be. They always have an incredible selection of exotics, classics and great people.
Care to share the details on the PV car show, as where & when? Is it open to us (the public, so to speak)?
It is located on Lincoln, west of Scottsdale Rd at the town hall/police station. Takes place in the morning... ~9am on. Free to get in. Amazing array of cars that usually never see the light of day. Really great event. I am sure that if you call the PV town hall, they would have more details.
Porsche Club of America AZ is having the Phoenix Flight 32 in Carefree on the same day. I still don't know why FCA and P Club are having their events at the same time. Would be nice to be on different dates so we can make it to both. http://az.pca.org/
Thanks for the info Dino Decisions decisions. I googled for some more information: Paradise Valley Veterans Appreciation Vintage Car Show The 2009 Annual Vintage Car Show will be held November 14th from 8:30 am to 11:30 am at Town Hall. The event will culminate with a 10K police escort tour around Mummy Mountain, finishing at the Hermosa Inn for a no-host lunch at noon. Registration is limited to 100 vehicles. If you are interested in participating this year, please call (480) 348-3530 or send an email. Proceeds will benefit the Arizona Military Family Relief Fund.
I can only go to the concorso i think. I looked at pics from last year and it looked mostly like vintage cars. I like exotics the best and Concorso is where it's at for those!
It won't be like year's past. You will note that they are calling it 'picollo' (means small). They have ~30 cars. Not much vintage, mainly Mondials, 355s... If that's what you are into, that will be the place to be. Have fun.
Planning to make the PV event. There are cars hidden away in PV that only show-up at this event. Guys muster the will to drive their cherished possession 3 miles to the show and then tuck it away for another decade.
Yup, like we talked about last Saturday, I don't either. I'm not. And if they're charging admission, I won't be going for a visit like I planned
Kind of bummed to hear negative comments about Concorso. Not saying it's the greatest event ever or anything, but I still plan on swinging by. Definitely going to make it out to PV as well. Always amazing stuff out there and like other said, cars you just don't see otherwise. Probably swing by the PCA event as well, since I'll be right in the area. As for Concorso, there should be some nice, classic cars there (or at least, they've registered for the event) in addition to some more modern stuff along with a number of bikes. I don't know that the turnout will be comparable to previous years and it is true that it will be significantly smaller than previous years, though. I'm not trying to sway people one way or another, I just don't want inaccurate info to turn people away.
A possession worth cherishing. So I take it you'll be out at PV? Look forward to (hopefully) seeing you and the car out there. My dad (big time car guy) is flying into town for the weekend to celebrate his birthday, so I'm hoping we'll be able to hit all of these events together as I know he really enjoys them and doesn't get to see much living in rural Wisconsin. Then we have media credentials to the NASCAR race on Sunday so that should be fun/interesting.
