    wandering who has an out of this world computer setup, for personal use, not talking about the supercomputer you have at work, but the one you use for personal use.

    What do you use it for??? PICS would be cool......

    That is a cool pic. My dad paid AU$7500 in 1991 for our NEC Powermate 286 for my brother and I. :eek: :eek: CRAZY! We still have the old girl. Still works also. :)

    I actually sit on my bike when I'm posting on the forum to generate my own electricity. Looks like i'll be due for another tyre by the end of the day :eek:

    I have it....

    The pics don't show how truly MASSIVE this case is. It's a very old, solid metal case. Back in the day when you wouldn't think about moving it, you were probably the first on your block to have a personal computer.

    The camera flash isn't the best, doesn't highlight how truly bright the LEDs are in the diamond plate display. The box lights up my office at night. The LEDs are controlled by the left toggle switch. Power is the right switch.
    Wacom CTE-430 tablet w/ Ferrari background. I bought the emblem you see next to the tablet, but I can't decide where to put it on the case(if at all).

    Window is acrylic, etched with Dremel.

    Keyboard was taken apart and sprayed with same color as case.

    Case was sanded, then sanded, then sanded some more to remove the baked-on paint to get to bare metal. Then, progressively applied spray paint in many clean coats. Used wax paper to create stencils for the Ferrari logo.

    It's not as fast as desktops get now - the essential gear inside hasn't changed since we built it 3 years ago. Actually, for such a great case, I'm a bit embarassed of the specs, but she performs well enough to record music and Photoshop, and since I'm putting most of my money into music and not the pc anyway, that's how it's stayed. All that will change this month, she's long overdue for an overhaul.


    At least she looks the fastest...

    AMD FX-51
    ATI X800XT PE
    1GB Corsair XMS RAM
    and that's really all the pertinent info I guess.

    Maybe you can swing a deal with Bridgestone or something, get a harder compound that will last more than a day...

    bad pictures, but I think mine's pretty sweet. I bought the pieces and built it with my friend. My models are usually sitting on top of the case.

    it's a year old so it's not as awesome as it used to be but the specs are 80gb hard drive (I will probably need an external one soon), 3.8 Ghz, 1 GB ram, awesome sound card and speakers, radeon 7600 pro graphics card, etc. I run tons of big programs at once and it doesn't slow down one bit, games run smoothly as well. It runs windows and linux
