    Ok guys....

With all of your experience can you give me a hint how to remove the fuel lines? I assume I don't just unscrew them since the other end doesn't look like it gets disconnected.

Remove the 6mm nut holding the retaining clamp in place and just wiggle them out of the fitting.

I get DIY's on the phone all the time pickin' my brain, thinking its going to save them money, but in the long run they end up spending twice the time at twice the price.

There are so many more things involved than just changing parts...

Not bashin' a guy for trying, but in this case experiences prevail. Hate to see ya have to drop it out again.

Yup care is careful. Using leverage and tools is working smart not hard. If a water pipe can't take some manipulation it should be replaced anyway. Its a car not a flower and lives in a dynamic environment that is not kind in any way. If it can't take a judicious use of force it will never survive what my right foot is going to do to it.

This may be a good time to discuss the three classes of coolant hose clamps:
1 polymeric like gates polygrip SB
2 constant tension like pinch clamp
3 constant diameter like crimp ear or screw clamps

Sliding the hose on was not a problem.....u just have to go slow and easy...."with guidance". It only takes less than a minute while lowering the hoist a fraction each time....'helping the hose alignment/position".

& there will always be the naysayers.
But when I service a car for the first time.... it crazy how many problems I find...left by the prior "professionals".

Will post all that and take pictures. The guy helping me isn't available the next couple weekends so may be a while. My goal is to get this thing back together by April 15 (when I'll probably be thinking about boats and not cars).
