But I would guess the beautiful carbon rear fender /bumper is probably at least $15k to replace

I love my Speciale but I love my 650S Spider more. The P1 style fixed buckets make the car for me. Just the most awesome driving position. The car feels smaller and dartier than the 458 and the performance is greater.

After many years of being a Ferrari loyalist, I've been considering jumping into a 650s Spider followed by a 675LT Spider. I'm concerned about depreciation, but my 458 depreciated as well. The honest truth is that my 488 allocation continues to get pushed out, which is very frustrating. It's the reason I want it soooo bad, and the reason I'd like to them (Ferrari) to shove it! Trying to wrap my head around buying a McLaren. Not sure I can do it.

So what exactly does that mean?? I offered my local dealer $100k off msrp on a demo car with a 1000 miles, and they told me to take a hike.

I was offered $80k off new 6 months ago on new. I wouldn't touch a 650S due to the serious depreciation. $80k off new means probably at least $100k off used. No way no matter how much money you have to burn.

Did you all read (yesterday's press release) that McLaren will now offer in-house leasing on the 570 and 650? Could definitely push a few people off the fence.

I think the $100k off on dealer cars probably evaporated with the new calendar year. Maserati did the same thing...the screaming deals you could get in late 2015 are no longer available and they expect you pay-up for 2016. I'm sure both makers will be back to huge discounts by late spring/early summer.

I think they are doing quite OK despite the general feeling around here. They are a much smaller (and focused) boutique car company so don't need or have the volumes that other car companies have. Overall they are doing well if not better, albeit on a smaller scale production wise. Kinda the sweet spot IMO where owners have a direct connection to the factory re customization and future direction. It's not like Ferrari where they take your suggestion and prioritize it with another 1M suggestions and you never get any response at all.

What's interesting is, Mclaren is coming up to near Lamborghini production numbers and will be adding 12 new retail locations this year.

What I find most interesting about this forum is when cars/brands are compared, it is all about Ferrari this or Mclaren that, very little about Lamborghini/Huracán.

Is this because of the F1 rivalry carrying over into the forum? Or fewer Lamborghini owners visiting the forum Or just lack of interest in the Lamborghini brand?

I had a Huracan and loved it. Have 580-2 on order. If you drive one you will enjoy it.

Bought a 458 3 weeks ago and still waiting for it to show at dealer--transport during holidays and new years is not fun.

I'm about as pissed as one can be at this point...ok rant off.

Traded in my Mclaren 650s spider for a 458 Spider. Both are amazing. My main concern was depreciation. The 12C owners got screwed when the 650 appeared and then they announced the 570 just after I got mine. Found it pretty difficult to find a decent price (got lucky in the end - found a Mac dealer that had a 6 month old loaded up 458).

The Mclaren 675LT has made it to EVO's highest rated supercar choice if you go to the car reviews section in the latest edition

Richard this car kicks serious ass, specially Ferraris eheh :p

As far as I know the single flaw is a bit of turbo lag until higher revs but after that this this just flies. Its amazing that outside of the holy trinity or Konig this this demolishes everything on the road, everything (The 650s replacement will be even faster....Damn....)!

and its fun to drive to eheh, well done Mclaren ; )

Drove a 650s for 6 hours yesterday in city and highway. Did not take on track, so my comments are more as daily driver.

Drove in all modes in both auto and manual.

My immediate quick observations that stood out were:

    Upside (For me):

Rides nice, very quick, and shifts smooth, handles great and great looking.

Liked the hollowed out center panel to store stuff. Good use of extra space.

    Downsides (For me):

Virtually no noise at all upshift or downshift for the most part.

Car is even harder to get in and out of than a Lotus.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think McLaren are or will be #2 in production.

Ppl around here hate Ron Dennis and everything he says or does.

Lambo's are great I think they're a more laid back and affluent group.

'Order demand' is nothing more than dealers be forced to take allocations. Just like the 650S, at one time there was a warehouse filled with unsold cars as dealers refused to take anymore (or rather there was no demand/buyers).

And of course the 570 is in production, so that will help, but as long as Mac keeps pumping out unsold (to the end user that is) cars, I have a feeling that infamous Mac depreciation will continue to develop.

Building more and selling more are two completely different things.
