My f12 is on its way from Europe so i am certainly going to sell my 3 pedals 360 because of lack of place.
I was checking on dupontregistry and carsforsale to compare and almost all the 360 labelled manual 6 speeds even from professional garage are in fact f1 when you check the pictures.

Any idea why the confusion ?

I find very few real 3 pedals for sale at the moment .
It should be good for mine :)

Technically speaking, they are 6 speed manuals but the real reason is the sellers know that the buyers are looking for a true gated 6 speed and this way they catch the attention of potential buyers that would have otherwise filtered them out in a search.

For the most part, I think they're just lazy or stupid. There is a lot of "cutting and pasting" of ad-copy with the higher volume dealerships. I don't think they're actually doing it on purpose or to try and trick you into taking a look. A savvy buyer who is really looking for a 3 pedal will spot the error immediately and move on in disgust. I do it for hours at a time. :/

Agreed. The time "wasted" in being "caught" by such ads in my search over the last few months was annoying.

Most paddle drivers think of their cars as manuals or "automanuals." Talk about oxymoron!

I don't think most car ad sites give you the option to describe the transmission in anything other than "manual" or "automatic."

If we're being picky, the 360 F1 is actually a sequential manual gearbox, with a computer controlled clutch. Calling it an "automatic" would imply a torque converter / planetary gear arrangement, which isn't technically correct, right?

So, I'm going to stick my neck out and say that to call the F1 a "manual" gearbox rather than an "automatic" one is technically more correct.

The word "automatic" is an adjective describing how it operates. The mechanicals are irrelevant. If it shifts automatically, it is an automatic. BTW, my Toyota Tundra has a "manual mode" where I can use the stick like a sequential. Forward for upshifts, back for downshifts. It resembles a manual better than paddles.

I guess since I care about the mechanics of the matter, I don't agree with this position. Seems like a matter of semantics.
I don't think you could make the argument to the contrary that, if a torque converter gearbox has a "manual" mode like SO MANY of them do, they don't become "manual" gearboxes because they have a manual mode. Conversely, you are applying this same logic to the application of the word "automatic" describing a sequential gearbox (so different arrangement of gears) with a computer controlled clutch.

As I am a Mechanical Engineer, you'll have to forgive me if I refuse to ignore the mechanics involved.
