?
the 2 dudes that joined and gave you an essay on your poor performance were obviously told by others to get on the site and giddy up
because the FCA was being rubbished and some of us like the club and want it to be successful - I think it's great that PhilC, Ian and Gil participate, ..don't you ??
and BULL btw...the FCA wasn't being rubbished. Just a couple of the members...hardly a dent! However, I still stick with the Vote no..it's nonsense and purposely disruptive. Who still doesn't have those forms, btw?
I have no intention to rubbish the club. I just feel that we have a situation that some people (committee), are in charge of making decisions and sometimes they don't let the members know what's going on. I also feel that some committee members get themselves into a "council/government", sort of role, whereby, being on the committee becomes "there big thing in life", and they lose sight of reality. A bit like being in government, where sometimes the politians, forget what it's like being a normal person and forget what the normal person's needs are. And when I say things like "they think their on the board of BHP", i mean that to some, the importance of being on the committee, is more important than driving their cars. I just have a problem with things like, being on a committee and all that is talked about is "section 5, sub section 7, paragraph (d) etc. etc. etc. The stuff that took place by the NAtional committee to try and get RID of Tom Warwick, was just appalling. I know Tom's no angel, and I have some problems with Tom's lack of "going out of his way to make new members feel welcome", but still what went on with Trevor -vs-Tom was just a joke. And also Phil C. , all the drama that took place when Phil was president, happened about 5 years ago, yet here we are dredging it up again. You would have to say that Phil is still pretty bitter about it. Can't we all just forget all this stuff and move on. I am looking forward to a new president, and hopefully we can just move on. I want to be on a committee that just spends it's time organizing events, and not wasting time on the politics.....but then maybe it's time for me to move on as well, because I have been on the committee for over 10 years and I've just seen too much.
Don't you dare If I am about to rejoin the club, I really don't want to deal with political players - just the enthusiasts who will listen to ways to help keep growing the club and keeping its relevance to all members... 'cause as you know, if I rejoin the club (and the national committee accepts me as a member which could be a challenge - it's okay, I'll 'slick' back my hair ) I certainly won't be a wallflower
PP, Mark and Gil. The FCA "bashing" has lead to a number of new local members joining the board and participating. The message may not have been popular, but it certainly stirred up interest, which has hopefully resulted in some worthwhile contributors being made aware of the forum and staying for the long term. Good work!
Sadly, I doubt they will stick around... Jump up, perceive they need to defend the club against 'knockers', then go back to ground... The delivery may not suit eveyone, but healthy debate is what stops clubs from stagnating...
we were part of the vanguard dude, been playing since alt.binary.erotica so you work out how far the newsgroups go back they were the days you could converse with the engineers in F1
I think its easier to be a lurker in ignorant bliss up here in Qld. I have been a AFR / FCA member for over 20 years, been to few rallys, track days, concourses etc - mainly in the past not present. I have generally disregarded the politics that you hear of from time to time - it is a car club to enjoy Ferrari's. Maybe a forum of this type on the FCA web site to discuss some of the problems in private may be of greater value than to do it in the open on F-chat. We are lucky in Qld, Ray & Leona do a sterling job organizing the club.
sounds like if there are any problems at all it's state/national. the states alone seem to be going along just fine.
