Woah! Anyone care to enlighten me as to why these are so expensive? I mean, I thought OEM stuff was expensive and that aftermarket gear is always priced less than Ferrari....but these....?? I'm baffled...

Besides.....is there ANYONE in here who has purchased these or even seen them on a 355???

Ummm perhaps its because they are made in a short run and not in the thousands like the OEM ones.

Want my advice on this? Just take your current 355 lights out, smoke the lights yourself. Its just tinted lights. Thats all it is. Buy some good quality tint. Take care to cut them properly, then apply them to your lights like you would for your windows. Cant be bothered to do it yourself? take the lights out, then take it to a shop that does window tinting. 90% sure they will do it for you. I personally think this would look great with a challenge grill.

And as far as the clear ones go. Wow they look dumb. Trust me you dont want to ruinyour 355 like that. Clear lights are gonna get you the time honoured statement "Dude your mr2 has a real nice bodykit." Now how would you feel when someone calls your treasured 355 a mr2?

If not cool. I can personally see smoked taillights on a black 355 with a challenge grill looking quite slick.

The silver lights are huge nay!!! The smoked versions would need to be part of a comprehensive 'theme' ........... for example they would look good on a silver 355 spider or GTB, challenge grill ......... with charcoal wheels, either deleted or matching smoked side indicators and smoked front signal indicators

I personally like the standard red lights on a nero car as it gives good contrast ............

Part of it is the horrifically weak Dollar vs. the Euro.

I wasn't actually soliciting an opinion but why the apology ("sorry") after making the comment?

Um, no. Window tint will not curve to shape on a 355 tail lights. Lights of this shape are tinted using a spray on tinted clear.

Personally I like the look when combined with a challenge grill....not sure I would do it though.

These lenses/lights are 'stragglers' of the so-called 'Black Lights' and 'White Lights' thingy of the mid 90's to early 00' rage in Optik Tuning, especially in EU countries back then. The lenses are not tinted nor smoked, they're kind of translucent black and ..er...translucent white plastics/polycarbonate respectively. I remember thumbing thru some German Auto Accessory mag and these lights looked the biz on an e36 M3 or the C36 AMG. They were not cheap then too.

Note that a special kind of bulb is needed, the Osram something and they're TUV certified, meaning the light output, especially the brakelights remain within the safety parameters of TUV's law. ( If you smoke or tint the lights, the light output would be severely compromised and in some countries it's against the law )

I believe Novitec's Black Lights are basically the same kind of units, more or less...

Having said that, I have no affiliation with the seller of the products nor do I agree fitting them onto pedigreed cars...more so if the car happens to be a Ferrari..:)
