It is funny that 4 of the moderators of the Owners Forum don't even own a Ferrari.
which 4, I don't even know. NeuroBeaker is obvious one and El Wayne is a former owner. only reason we have that many mods listed under Owners is that it is part of the Subscribed Category which requires some of our heaviest moderation overall.
As Rob said, some of those mods are listed because they're Subscribed Forum mods. As I recall, the OF access bit is separate from the moderator permission bits. As an example, I know that Andrew (Neurobeaker) is listed as an OF mod, but doesn't actually have OF access. So in his case, being on the mod listing is meaningless. As far as the 3 others, I believe you're referring to mods that list themselves as previous Ferrari owners. They may or may not have ever become OF members themselves and may or may not have OF access now. I know one of the listed mods withdrew when he sold his car and reentered when he bought a replacement. Since OF membership is a private list, it's up to the member to disclose it, if they choose, I won't.
Oh, it's not entirely meaningless... it causes endless mirth for some folks - me included! As Rob and Yin said, I don't really moderate the Owners Forum. I'm assigned to the subscribed areas and the system just lumps me in there too. I am not an owner, so do not have any access to the Owners Forum - can't see anything in there. Clipped screenshot from my account attached, taken just now. I'll get in there one day, but I need to buy a Ferrari and find some folks to verify me first. All the best, Andrew. You guys should really try to get into this super cool "owners site" The welcoming gifts are beyond belief and the Christmas parties!!!
I will accept visits from Fchatters for verfication purposes only, which comply with the following conditions: - Ferrari ownership - Lamborghini tolerance - female - young - attractive - they find me attractive (though I am not young and female) - intelligent - they turn up in their Ferrari - they give me an executive summary about the OF and its contents - they convince me that membership has special value for me - they do not mind me making stupid or silly jokes. Or in the alternative saying not a word. - they live at least 300 miles away. If the persons in duty are able to comply with my above conditions, I might consider gracing the OF with my presence and active participation.
Ah, I understand that this is the only obstacle preventing that the femal examiners mentioned above appear at my garage. Problem will be solved and I then look forward to their visit on a sunny summer day, coffee and cake will for sure be served in a most pleasant environment (between oily car parts) .
Ah, I see you're in Germany! In that case, I've got a cake recipe you simply must try... http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/drink-smoke-fine-dining/325334-most-dangerous-cake-recipe-world.html Although, according to Florian (Far Out), this recipe made his microwave smell like the burning of an unmanned aerial vehicle produced by Lockheed Martin's Skunk Works (see link above). All the best, Andrew.
I guess I don't want in badly enough. I hope to someday attend more events and meet more Fchatters, but for the time being i'm just a regular "Ferrari owner." I don't know what goes on in there, but it would seem to me that we would want to encourage and promote participation by all owners. Odd to me that the majority of responses (in this thread) to those of us who would like to be included have been dismissive rather than inclusive. In any case, I really enjoy Fchat and think the mods do a great job. I will continue to enjoy all the non-owner forums until I have an opportunity to meet more of you in person.
Its really nothing like that at all. We mostly think it is humorous how people want to by pass a simple process. I see you are in Chicago.....how is it that I can locate more f-chat Ferrari owners in the state of Montana, with a population of under 1mm than you can in Chicago?????? E-mail a few owners and go have a cup of coffee. I personally regret having breakfast in North Pole Alaska, and not calling a local there. I thought he might be put off. As it turns out it would have been a good thing.
Ah, this really looks very interesting and indeed very dangerous! The female examiners will, of course NOT be served this specific cake for obvious reasons (they would never come around again, blaming me for things which I really do not have under control). I rather thought of some kind of carrot/wholemeal cake, because this is very acceptable, at least for attractive German women, I am told. Presumably because they will definitly not eat too much thereof and it brilliantly concludes a dinner with a main dish composed of weeds and algae, topped with a sugar-free dressing . By the way, just recently a German Member of the Bundestag (Federal Parliament) complained before the High House that TV reports about vegan whips are a more important issue than other (minor) topics he considers more important (strange ideas he has, anyway, but a true story!).
