Why did my C4S understeer ?

    I was coming home yesterday and driving in a more spirited way and took a turn a little faster than usual ( but still under the speed limit..) and where i was anticipating to oversteer and counterlock as im used to , the front just pushed me to the middle of the road until i let off the gas and applied more turn in .

    Is it because its a AWD ? or because the weight is in the back and the front is very light ? Usually it oversteer , esp in the rain or when the PSM is off.

    coming in too fast and not enough weight transfer (ie braking or "throwing around"). That's why it corrected when you let off the gas. Earlier 911 were very sensitive to this ... you could actually tell if the gas tank was empty, from what I've heard. There again, the C4S has such a wide rear stance you'll be hard pressed to get anything but understeer on dry pavement. The Turbo gets away with it thanks to the extra 100hp or so ...
    That's what happens when those Ferrari boys get in actual sports cars. :D
    Technically, you would be supposed to tail-brake a 911, and throttle-steer it out of the curve. Or so I've heard. I sure wouldn't want to play with the limit like that on open roads, though!
    Fess up, how many old ladies did you crash into? Those with a walker are only half the points, they can't run away. :D

    On another note, always thought your 997 was the "simple" S, not the AWD.

    Tank was full. Road was dry. But yeah i didnt brake enough because i thought the rear would start to slide a little as it does sometimes .

    I only crash into old ladies in the mercedes , i need the aim cross ! :D

    I got the 4S for the winter but still didnt get winter tires :p..
