I think it is because of its history and prior owner and really low milage but I would not pay it........Steve
it wad due to the previous owner and really low mileage, plus its got the F1 gearbox which is pretty rare in 360 spyders.
Poor car, never got driven - maybe someone took pity on it and gave it a good home... btw, who is Mr Hendrick? Must be someone that brings health and fame if a buyer is will to pay 50K over! LOL.
Frenchie- Somebody too rich for his own good also paid $300K for a Superamerica. Why do you think the booze is free? Taz Terry Phillips
Rick Hendrick, biggest claim to fame is as hyper successful NASCAR team owner. Also known for bribing Honda officials: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Hendrick Pics: http://www.autoblog.com/2011/01/22/barrett-jackson-2011-rick-hendricks-2002-ferrari-360-modena-f1/ Image Unavailable, Please Login
Rick Hendricks of Hendricks Motorsports very well known and successful NASCAR owner.......Steve http://hendrickmotorsports.com/Default.asp?bhcp=1
They keep saying : Only 379 convertible paddle-shift cars were built and this one was kept inside when the weather was anything other than sunny. That number has to be wrong!
I don't know the exact numbers but Im not so sure about the F1 being rare in spiders. Can anybody comment on this?
Looks like a nice car but it would have to come with Scarlett Johanssen in the right seat on long term loan before it was worth $170K. Taz Terry Phillips
I watched it go off and could not believe my eyes or ears! When it stalled at 80K I figure that was fair given the miles BUT I almost passed out when they hammered that thing for $170,000!! Do not forget the buyer MUST pay a 10% fee so the poor guy paid $187,000!!! On a really good day you could buy a Scud for scudniss sakes. I actually felt bad for him....You could tell he was sweating it. Just wrong letting that happen....Just wrong.
Eric- I had to look her up on Google, but she looks like an acceptable seat filler. Taz Terry Phillips
I watched an Amphicar sell for $110,000 during the Barret Jackson auction There are a number of them around here, we see them on the river in the summer. Talked to a group one afternoon, said Amphicars sell for $30,000 to 45,000 for a REALLY nice one Why pay $175,000 for a F360 spider - because you can ? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Actually most of the 360 spiders built, were built with the F1 gear box. There actually over 7,500 360 spiders built. If you watched the Speed broadcast they read email that corrected their statement "1 of only 379 built". That was the email I sent them, or one identical to mine. No matter how you cut it though, who ever bought that car paid stupid money for it. Great 360 spiders can be bought for a 100K all day.
That's ridiculous ... A friend had a 2001 with the same specs except it only had 100 miles. The car still had plastic delivery wrapper when I saw it ... IT SOLD FOR $103,500.00 Some people have more money than brains G
